Balochistan is Pakistan's largest province, located in the southwest, rich in resources but sparsely populated and the most unstable in the country due to ethnic violence and attacks that have occurred in this area for many years.

The largest attack targeted a variety of vehicles, from passenger buses to cargo trucks on a major highway, killing 23 people and burning 35 vehicles.

In addition, the militants also caused a series of explosions on a railway bridge connecting the city of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, disrupting rail traffic to the city as well as on the rail line connecting to neighboring Iran. The militants also targeted police and security posts in Balochistan, killing 10 people, including security personnel.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militant group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's office said security forces would intervene and bring the perpetrators to justice.
