Chipmaker Nvidia and tech giant Google have been named the two best places to work in Israel, according to an annual ranking by business data analytics firm BDI Israel, as employees seek stable, supportive and meaningful environments amid challenging times.
Tech companies continue to dominate the top spots. Nvidia Israel holds the number one spot this year, topping the list for the second year in a row since surpassing Microsoft Israel R&D in 2024.
Google Israel came in second, while Microsoft held onto third place – the same as last year. Cybersecurity firm Check Point Software Technologies and Applied Materials Israel took fourth and fifth place, respectively.
“What the survey shows is that workers have been in ‘survival mode’ for the past 20 months because of the conflict,” said Roy Minkov, CEO of CofaceBDI.
Employers understand that in these difficult times, technology is only half the problem, the other half is people – and that’s what helps them score high in the rankings.”
“Today’s employees are not only looking for attractive salaries, but also for meaning, personal fulfillment and mentorship in their work; they want to be heard, to feel important and to be involved in the larger goals of the business. They also expect their workplace to be empathetic and flexible to their needs,” Minkov stressed.
The CofaceBDI 2025 ranking is based on anonymous surveys of hundreds of thousands of employees at 180 companies with at least 100 employees in Israel.
Defense group Elbit Systems entered the top 10 for the first time, rising nine places to 10th. German software firm SAP, which acquired Israeli technology company WalkMe for $1.5 billion last year, rose four places to 7th.
Israel Aerospace Industries dropped one spot to No. 8. Direct Insurance retained its position at No. 6, while CyberArk rose one spot to No. 9.
Defense companies like Elbit are valued not necessarily because they pay higher salaries, but because workers increasingly value contribution and social impact when choosing a workplace, Minkov said.
US-based Intel Corporation - one of the largest employers in Israel - dropped one spot to 19th as the company announced plans to cut global staff, affecting development centers in Haifa, Petah Tikva and Jerusalem.
Nvidia is one of the international technology giants that has expanded aggressively in Israel since starting operations there in 2016.
With more than 4,500 employees working at seven R&D centers from Yokne'am to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Ra'anana and Beersheba, Israel is now Nvidia's largest operation outside the United States.
Earlier this year, Nvidia announced an investment of more than $500 million in a new AI research and engineering center in northern Israel./.
