Wherever the water recedes, electricity is restored immediately.

Currently, most districts in Hanoi have had their water receded and electricity has been restored. However, some areas in Chuong My, Quoc Oai, Me Linh, Soc Son districts, etc. are still affected by floods from small rivers and intra-provincial rivers that do not ensure safe electricity supply.

To ensure the safety of electricity supply as well as support people in flood-hit areas, EVNHANOI has arranged staff to be on duty day and night to closely monitor the situation. When the water shows signs of receding, EVNHANOI staff will immediately check and assess the situation, quickly restoring electricity to people with the motto "Where the water recedes - electricity is provided".

According to records in the past few days, the road leading to Mom hamlet (Viet Long commune, Soc Son district) is still deeply flooded, nearly 100 households with more than 300 people are isolated by flood water. Some households have to bring poultry and livestock upstairs to temporarily stay.

According to the Captain of Electricity Management Team 4, Soc Son Power Company, Dam Dinh Huy, the flood water quickly flooded 3 hamlets: Mom, Dong, and Doai, located outside the Huu Cau dike. People were also evacuated to flood-proof areas.

Since the floodwaters rose high and caused unsafe power supply, we quickly deployed emergency measures, temporarily stopping power supply in the area. At the same time, we supported people to move their belongings and electrical equipment to higher places… For residential areas that are still receiving normal power supply, we regularly check and propagate to ensure electrical safety to avoid incidents,” Mr. Huy shared.

“My family, like many others in Luong Phuc village, was severely affected by the recent floods. When the floodwaters flooded in, everything was turned upside down, making us extremely worried. However, despite the dangerous rain, wind and floodwaters, electricity workers still went to each household to check the electrical system, ensuring the safety of the people and especially instructing them on how to use electricity safely during the flood. Thanks to their efforts, my family has been able to live normally again,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoa, a resident of Luong Phuc village, Viet Long commune.

With a spirit of readiness, proactiveness and urgency, EVNHANOI will continue to accompany local authorities and people in overcoming natural disasters, restoring daily life and production activities after floods.
