According to the People's Committee of Tan Thanh Commune, Thuong Xuan District, heavy rains and floods in recent days have caused a section of Ben Nha Bridge across the Dan River, connecting Thanh Lam and Thanh Loi villages, to break and collapse into the river on the night of September 22.

To ensure traffic safety, on September 23, authorities temporarily repaired the collapsed bridge.

A leader of the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan district said that due to the influence of storm No. 4 , there was heavy rain in the area along with the discharge of floodwater from Cua Dat lake (Thuong Xuan town), causing flooding in many places in the area, such as Xuan Cao, Tho Thanh, Xuan Duong, Ngoc Phung, Tan Thanh, and Luan Thanh communes.

Due to the complex terrain, strongly divided by many high mountains and river and stream systems, landslides and localized flooding occurred at many points on traffic routes. The entire Thuong Xuan district has 273 households with 1,057 people who had to evacuate to safety.

Faced with the complicated situation of floods, local authorities and functional agencies are focusing forces on duty 24/7 at spillways, landslide and flood areas to be ready to respond when incidents occur.
