The Hollywood Reporter reported on July 26 that Sinead O'Connor's family confirmed the sad news to the media.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sinead O'Connor. Her family and friends are devastated and ask for privacy at this difficult time," the statement said.

Sinead O'Connor's last public appearance was in March, at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards. She received a standing ovation for her classic album "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" and accepted the award.

Bald female singer passed away

In 2022, she revealed to the media that her 17-year-old son had died by suicide, forcing her to cancel her shows for the year due to grief over the tragic loss of his life.

Sinead O'Connor suffered from bipolar disorder and struggled with her mental health for a long time. She released her debut album "The Lion and the Cobra" in 1987. The album attracted a lot of attention and earned her her first Grammy nomination. She followed it up with the album "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got". On this second album, the song "Nothing Compares 2 U" brought the singer international success. The album earned her four Grammy nominations, but Sinead O'Connor later declined the nominations and awards.

"Nothing Compares 2 U" was written by the late Prince for his project The Family in 1985. He didn't think it would be popular until Sinead O'Connor performed it and it broke the charts. In her lifetime, she released 11 studio albums and received 13 music awards. She announced her retirement after her last album ""No Veteran Dies Alone" was released in early 2022. This female singer is also nicknamed the "bald head" singer because of her unique and individual bald head look.

Sinéad O'Connor attempted suicide twice but was lucky to survive. After seeing a doctor, she overcame the shock of her personal life.

She fights bipolar disorder.

Her first husband was music producer John Reynolds, whom she married in 1989 but quickly divorced. Her second husband was journalist Nicholas Sommerlad, whom she married in 2001. Her third husband was Steve Cooney, whom she married in July 2010 and divorced in April. She has four children from previous marriages.

After overcoming the crisis of her third painful marriage, she married Barry Herridge for the fourth time in 2011 but separated after 16 days and then reconciled but it did not last long. In 2021, she confirmed that she was single and did not want to have a relationship with anyone.

She has made many controversial moves due to her illness. In 2018, she converted to Islam and changed her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat.
