With a spirit of serious work, concern for each topic, and care for each work, generations of Quang Ninh journalists have been honored to win many high awards at national press festivals and competitions, thereby not only affirming their position, creating influence, leaving an impression, but more importantly, reflecting and fully conveying the thoughts and aspirations of the people.
Constantly innovate thinking
During the process of construction and development, the vivid practices, breakthrough thinking, and creative ways of doing things of Quang Ninh are a rich, diverse, and attractive source of topics for generations of journalists. Even in difficult times with poor and outdated facilities, with enthusiasm, love for the profession, and concern for the profession, journalists have constantly researched, studied, and worked hard to exploit various aspects of the topic. Not only were they well-deserved awards, each journalist at that time had articles recognized and associated with their names. There were award-winning articles that changed the awareness and policy mechanisms and decisions of departments, branches, and localities.
Journalist Vu Dieu, former Head of the Economic Department of Quang Ninh Newspaper, former resident reporter of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Quang Ninh, won the First Prize of the National Press Award in 1992, recalled: In 1992, I was working as Head of the Economic Department of Quang Ninh Newspaper, so I regularly followed the industrial, agricultural and service sectors. Journalists must be brave, speak out what is right and what is wrong with a pure heart. Therefore, the coal screening plant existed right in the heart of Hon Gai Town (old) for quite a long time, but by that time it not only caused severe environmental pollution, but also made life more difficult for miners. However, the Coal Industry had a huge investment project to rebuild the plant right at the old location and the project was approved by the competent authorities. A town flooded with coal pollution will not be far away. After spending time researching, working with related units, and doing a lot of research, half of page 3 of the September 8, 1992 issue published the article Building a new coal screening house in Hong Gai - Questions that need answers. With 4 questions "Is there coal to screen? Is there money to pay? Two Australian recruiters ask why? What will the living environment be like?" - the article raised 2 issues of innovation in thinking and environmental protection. At the time of the early years of innovation, raising these issues was quite bold, so the article caused a stir in public opinion. After that article, the Provincial People's Council discussed it at the meeting, and at the same time issued a resolution recommending the Government review the investment in screening and screening houses and move the construction out of the town. The transfer of the screening and screening houses was reported to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister concluded to review the investment and move the construction of the screening and screening houses to another place.
Journalist Nguyen Tien Manh, former Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Radio and Television Station, former Editor-in-Chief of Quang Ninh Newspaper, three times winner of the Gold Prize at the National Television Festival in 2002, 2004, 2005 shared: Each of my award-winning reports is a different story, but all reflect the efforts of the Party Committee, the government from the province to the localities and the entire political system in improving the lives of the people. If the report "Finding the second half of the proverb" is the practical, drastic and effective solutions of the province in helping mountainous communes escape poverty, the report "Vitality from a resolution" is the story from a resolution of the Party Committee of Binh Khe commune, Dong Trieu district (now Binh Khe ward, Dong Trieu city) that helped the people in the area identify, take advantage of and promote the advantages of growing fruit trees to develop the economy, replicated in many other communes in the district, becoming a model for many places to learn. The reportage "One year to realize a hundred-year dream" is a recognition of the efforts of the province, philanthropists and the political system in joining hands to eliminate temporary houses for poor households in the area. With that effort, in just one year, Quang Ninh has basically no more temporary houses, making the people's hundred-year dream of solid, sturdy and stable houses come true.
Overcoming all difficulties, sticking closely to the vivid reality of life, ready to point out the wrongs in the hope that people will correct them, pointing out the right things in the hope that people will follow, sowing the seeds of goodness in society, generations of veteran journalists have not only reaped many worthy awards, but also brought many gold awards to the Mining Land such as: Reportage "Forms of contracting in Quang Ninh Fisheries Cooperative" by author Tran Manh Hung won the A prize of Voice of Vietnam in 1982; documentary film "The war without gunfire" by the group of authors Mai Phuong, Tung Bac won the Gold prize of the National Television Festival in 1990; reportage "Quang Ninh, a cry for help from the mangrove forests" by author Do Bich won the Gold prize of the National Radio and Television Festival in 2005; educational film "Raising geoducks - The advantage of the sea and islands" by author Huy Ty won the Gold prize of the National Television Festival; The reportage "The story of dairy farmers getting rich" by the group of authors Dinh Nhien, Nguyen Hung, Huong Giang, Hong Thang won the Gold Prize at the National Television Festival in 2010; the reportage "Building new rural areas - Resolving difficulties for criterion number 10" by the group of authors Trong Tue, Hoang Nam won the Gold Prize at the National Television Festival in 2013; the reportage "One year of convergence, a thousand-year dream" by the group of authors Thu Giang, Thu Phuong, Nguyen Soai, Hoang Nam won the Gold Prize at the National Television Festival in 2013; the reportage "Warm fire in the rain" by the group of authors Thu Giang, Mai Chi, Duc Phong won the Gold Prize at the National Television Festival in 2015...
Continuing the generation of fathers and brothers
Following the example of their predecessors - veteran journalists, the young generation of journalists in Quang Ninh today continues to promote tradition, constantly affirm their abilities, and become dynamic, creative, and professionally skilled journalists. Along with the hard work of researching topics, the team of journalists, reporters, and editors all devote their love, passion, and enthusiasm, thereby creating quality works that are well received by the public, continuing to bring gold awards to the Mining Land. The process of creating works is a journey full of hardships, challenges, and hardships. Therefore, these awards not only recognize the efforts of the team of journalists, but also continue to affirm their pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, contributing to the overall development of the province.
Reporter Huu Khanh, Radio Editorial Department, Provincial Media Center, won the Gold Award at the 2024 National Radio Festival with the live radio program "When young people sing red music" shared: For many years, the Provincial Media Center has produced live radio programs that attract public participation and interaction. When participating in the National Radio Festival, we hope not only to share the love of music with traditional revolutionary songs, but also to educate the young generation about love for their homeland and country with the theme "When young people love red music". To attract listeners, we chose to conduct live radio broadcasts with the interaction of the host and guests in the studio with the audience, instead of the traditional way of collecting materials, writing articles, and reading in the studio. The public can not only follow the program on the radio, but can also easily follow the program live on livestream on the fanpage.
"Because the program is performed live on location, the team of directors, MCs, guests, assistants and technicians must put in a lot of effort from the time of writing the script, discussing and implementing. For the program to achieve the best quality, the MC is the one who directly participates in building the script to be able to understand his work best and be able to flexibly respond to real situations" - reporter Huu Khanh added.
Recently, at the 42nd National Television Festival, Quang Ninh Province Media Center was honored to win 5 awards. Of which, the Center won 1 gold award for the group of authors Bich Hanh, The Anh, Phuong Dung, Viet Anh, Tuan Hung, Xuan Hoang in the Music category with the work My hometown.
Journalist Bich Hanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Arts - Sports - Entertainment, Provincial Media Center, said. The work "My Hometown" is a collection of famous songs about Quang Ninh such as: The Miner, The Night Stars, The Miner's Love Song, My Hometown, Early Ha Long, Ha Long Night Festival... with a duration of 45 minutes. The work is a story told with melodies, artistic sounds and the colors of life, with unique images and colors through the lyrics of people's artists, meritorious artists, and morning stars... who are the children of Quang Ninh homeland. To carry out the work, right from the first days of implementation, we planned, scripted, and assigned specific tasks to each individual. On that basis, the group of authors spent 5 months filming from the mines, to the border, islands, districts, cities, cultural heritages... to express the beauty of nature, culture, and people of the lands of Quang Ninh. On that basis, we have painstakingly selected and edited each melody and song in the program to create unique, novel, creative films with their own characteristics and appeal, yet clearly reflecting the heroic past journey to the spirit of solidarity, "Discipline - Unity", building Quang Ninh to be more and more beautiful, firmly entering the era of the nation. Thanks to that, the work won the Gold Award at the 42nd National Television Festival. That is the joy, honor and pride of me and the group of authors.
Promoting the tradition of revolutionary journalism and the burning fire of Than Newspaper, generations of Quang Ninh journalists have increasingly affirmed their mettle, spirit of striving, endless creativity and burning love and passion for the profession. Each award, each medal, each achievement is a great recognition, creating motivation for them to be more dedicated to the profession. They will continue to make constant efforts, keeping "bright eyes, sharp pen, pure heart" to truthfully reflect the issues of social life, worthy of the great responsibility entrusted by the Party and the people, contributing to the development of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism and the development of the province and the country.
