Delegates cited that from 2023 to present, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has increased electricity price 4 times, an increase of 17%. Meanwhile, the regional minimum wage for workers only increased once, with an increase of 6%.
"This makes it difficult for many workers to cover their daily necessities, let alone save or invest for the future," the delegate expressed concern.
According to her, workers and laborers directly produce and create material wealth for society but have not received proper attention. They have to live in cramped boarding houses with rudimentary facilities and equipment, and struggle to make ends meet.
Therefore, delegates earnestly recommend that the Government have solutions to control inflation, stabilize essential goods, especially electricity and food prices; at the same time, study policies to adjust electricity prices in a preferential direction for the poor. low income people
Urgently review and adjust regional minimum wage increase
Besides, the female delegate also proposed to urgently review and adjust, regional minimum wage increase from July. According to her, this is an urgent requirement from the reality of workers' lives.
