Joy from spacious houses

Tears and unspeakable emotions were the state of Mrs. Vo Thi Bup (KP 5, Duc Long ward) on the day the local authorities held the handover ceremony for the new house. Because a few months before, Mrs. Bup and her family members did not believe that the day when they had to worry about a place to shelter from the sun and rain would come true. On the happy day of having a new house, the neighbors who witnessed it all sent their congratulations, because they understood the hardships of Mrs. Bup's family during the days of having to live in the old, dilapidated house. The house not only helped Mrs. Bup's family reduce the burden of food, clothing, rice, and money, but also provided support to continue their journey to rise up in life.

Ms. Vo Thi Bup's household is one of 7 households in Duc Long ward that benefited from the program. The total cost for this locality to build and repair 7/7 houses is 700 million VND. For Binh Hung ward, when implementing, it has placed high political determination, along with flexibility in the way of doing things. The locality has proposed and approved 19 households that are people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, and near-poor households and completed it in May. According to statistics, other localities across the city have completed this work. In fact, the completion of the housing support plan in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is an impressive continuation of the results achieved during the continuous efforts in social security work of the localities. Not only the government but also the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and affection of all organizations in society. The houses are not only new places to live but also the beginning of a brighter future for the households.

With all sense of responsibility

According to the report of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Phan Thiet City, by early June 2025, the city had completed the repair, construction and handover of 82 houses to 82 households in the approved project with a total cost of 5 billion 950 million VND. Of which, 14 houses belong to households with meritorious services, 16 are poor apartments, 25 are near-poor apartments, and 27 are other disadvantaged households.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phan Thiet City said that when the program was implemented, it received great support from the entire political system. From the city to the ward and commune, a Steering Committee was established; local leaders directly directed and were responsible for the implementation progress. During that process, based on the assigned tasks, everyone tried their best to complete the work assigned to their unit. Ms. Ha also shared that the most difficult part in the implementation process was being stuck with legal regulations, there were households without land or living on land temporarily given by relatives, grandparents, parents... so there was not enough basis for implementation. Another case was the emergence of additional policy households, poor households, and disadvantaged households outside the project; in these cases, the city focused its efforts on checking, reviewing and classifying them specifically to find solutions. The ultimate goal is for these households to have a warm home. In the coming time, the city will continue to lead and direct the review of households in difficult circumstances and households that have benefited from this policy to grasp the situation and have appropriate support plans.
