The house of Vo Chi Dung, a 6/6 student at Nguyen Hong Anh Secondary School, is a vivid testament to the spread of that spirit of charity. Previously, Dung and his grandfather lived in a house with a leaky roof and cracked walls, struggling to survive each rainy and stormy season. Now, with the joint efforts of the Youth Union and the Youth Union at all levels, and the 10 million VND raised from the program "Small plan, piggy bank" of 30 Primary and Secondary School Unions across the district, the house has been repaired to be spacious and sturdy. Although the amount of money is not large, it is the crystallization of good seeds sown with a heart full of love. During the house handover ceremony, Vo Chi Dung was moved: "I thank you very much, uncles, aunts and friends. With a new house, I will try to study hard so as not to let everyone down." Those simple, sincere words touched the hearts of everyone present that day. Not only Dung, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Khue, a student of class 1/3, Hoa Chau Primary School No. 1, has just been awarded a clean and safe “Red Scarf House”. The successive constructions not only create new homes, but also act as a bridge of love, adding motivation for children to overcome adversity, nurture their dreams of going to school and reach for a bright future.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thinh, Deputy Secretary in charge of Hoa Vang District Youth Union, said that recently, the youth of the whole district contributed more than 1,035 working days to build two new houses with a total cost of 160 million VND, and mobilized an additional 800 working days to repair houses for households in difficult circumstances. The valuable thing is that the movement is not only for children but also spread to single-parent households and lonely elderly people, such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Kich (Khuong My village, Hoa Phong commune) or Ms. Le Thi Thuyen (Phuoc Thai village). Sharing the joy of receiving a new house, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kich emotionally said: “From temporary houses, I now have a safe and warm place to live. At my old age, having a peaceful roof and neighborly affection makes me feel much warmer. New roofs springing up all over the village are not only a place to live, but also a testament to the sharing and kindness between people.”
Mr. Thinh added that with the spirit of initiative, creativity, responsibility and especially the consensus of the people, Hoa Vang youth effectively promoted many socialization models, creating a wave of love spreading throughout the community. The strength of the people, the strength of the youth, enthusiasm and the spirit of "mutual love" have become a solid foundation for the movement to be constantly expanded. "We determine that taking care of children, especially those in difficult circumstances, is not only a responsibility but also a mission of the Youth Union and Team organizations. A solid roof not only helps children avoid the rain and sun, but also is a place to give wings to their dreams."
Hoa Vang District Party Secretary Bui Hong Trung affirmed that each house repaired or newly built is a practical action demonstrating the spirit of not leaving anyone behind. This is a manifestation of the solidarity between the Youth Union, the government and the people, joining hands to build Hoa Vang to be more and more prosperous and happy. Today's loving homes are not only a place to return to, but also a symbol of solidarity, a starting point for new hopes, so that no one is left behind, in line with the aspiration to rise up for a fair, democratic and civilized society.
