Specifically, on September 13 and 14, three batches of humanitarian aid arrived at Noi Bai Airport. These relief goods are part of the AHA Center’s response plan to support localities in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon Yagi .

Previously, these relief goods were gathered at the Subang Warehouse of the AHA Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The relief shipment includes 2,000 household kits, 1,000 evacuation repair kits, 1,000 kitchenware sets and 3,000 personal hygiene kits, with a total value of about 250,000 USD.

Immediately after landing, the shipment was received by the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (VCDM) and transported to affected areas such as Yen Bai province and Lao Cai city for local authorities to distribute to people.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)’s rapid response has been highly appreciated by Japan and Switzerland – two countries that have been working closely with the AHA Center.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam jhyo Ito Naoki said: “I highly appreciate the initiative of the AHA Center. This initiative has highlighted the importance of solidarity among neighboring countries in responding to natural disasters like the current one. This is a testament to the relevance and effectiveness of the “One ASEAN, One Response” Declaration.”

“We are extremely impressed with the AHA Centre’s response to this emergency. The speed of the regional mechanism’s response is a testament to its effectiveness. This has brought pride to the development partners associated with the Centre,” said Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass.
