The 2024 Folk Cultural Performance Competition of Ethnic Groups will take place in Quang Ngai

Specifically, from July 21 to 24, Quang Ngai will organize a national folk cultural performance competition of ethnic groups. The competition is an activity to introduce and promote the values of intangible cultural heritage, customs, traditional festivals, folk songs, folk dances, costumes, and cuisine of ethnic groups nationwide.

This is an opportunity for artisans and artists to gather, exchange experiences, collect, discover, explore and create in artistic work, contributing to preserving and honoring the values and traditional cultural identities of ethnic communities.

Then, from July 21 to July 29 in Quang Ngai, the Top 35 best contestants will enter the Semi-final and Final rounds of the Miss Vietnam Tourism Identity contest. The Miss Vietnam Tourism Identity contest is also a cultural activity to orient the aesthetic education for Vietnamese youth, thereby selecting female citizens with good morals, cultural level, understanding of tourism, and possessing the beauty of Vietnamese women: "Compassionate - Beautiful - Intelligent - Courageous - Responsible", associated with the image of Vietnamese nature and culture.

Miss Vietnam Identity Tourism will become the face of Quang Ngai's tourism ambassador to widely promote, spread and stimulate the tourism potential of Quang Ngai and Vietnam to domestic and international audiences.

In mid-July, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai also continuously organized the 2024 National Triathlon Championship (three events: Swimming, cycling and running) including 13 individual and mixed relay medal events; organized the National Youth Boxing Championship from July 5 to 16; The 2nd Quang Ngai Province Women's Football Tournament from July 13 to 17.

On August 16, the locality organized a scientific workshop on "Culture and folk arts of ethnic groups in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai and the South Central Coast in the new situation".

On August 17, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai held a ceremony to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the martyrdom of National Hero Truong Dinh (August 20, 1864 - August 20, 2024) and received the Certificate of National Monument ranking for Truong Dinh Temple, Tinh Khe Commune, Quang Ngai City. The event aims to demonstrate the morality of drinking water, remembering its source, and to show gratitude for the merits of National Hero Truong Dinh to his homeland and country.
