On January 16, the Bien Hoa Health Department (Dong Nai) continued to receive information about 4 people showing symptoms of vomiting and stomachache after eating grilled or steamed oysters and abalone at the Flamme Buffalo restaurant (Bien Hoa). Of these, 2 people were treated at home and 2 were hospitalized for emergency care.

According to the Department of Health, in addition to the above 4 cases, on January 13, 13 people had to be hospitalized and treated at Hoan My ITO Dong Nai Hospital for suspected food poisoning after eating at the above restaurant.

As of January 16, some people have been discharged from the hospital, while others and two children are still being treated in the hospital with a diagnosis of intestinal infection.

Upon receiving the report, the inspection team of Bien Hoa city inspected food safety and hygiene at Flamme Buffalo restaurant.

At the time of inspection on January 13, Flamme Buffalo restaurant had a business registration certificate and a certificate of food safety eligibility.

However, the facility has not yet presented health certificates of the facility owner and employees.

Not yet presented a certificate of training in food safety knowledge and not yet presented a record of the origin of input food materials for oyster, abalone, and mushroom products.

At the same time, the restaurant did not keep food samples for 24 hours; The kitchen drain was stagnant and not covered; The 3-step food inspection book was not recorded as required; and the trash can with a lid was not provided as required.

Authorities are continuing to clarify whether the restaurant's violations are related to the poisoning incident.
