Many activities to celebrate the 137th birthday of the late President Ton Duc Thang

On the morning of August 20 in Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang Museum solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2025).

The program with many activities of special significance, aims to express deep gratitude to the staunch communist, exemplary leader, excellent son of An Giang homeland, loyal soldier of the international communist and workers' movement.

Ton Duc Thang Museum launched a special exhibition on 25 years of Ton Duc Thang Award (running until December 31), introducing to the public nearly 400 documents, artifacts... of award-winning individuals to honor outstanding workers, engineers, and laborers with many initiatives, technical innovations, and active contributions to the emulation movement for excellent labor, creative labor, and training of young workers.

On this occasion, the Ton Duc Thang Museum received many valuable artifacts and documents donated by President Ton Duc Thang's family. Notably, there were household items associated with Uncle Ton and his wife at the house at 35 Tran Phu Street (Hanoi) since 1959; photos recording Uncle Ho's activities during the period of 1968 - 1979, along with many diplomatic gifts given to President Ton Duc Thang by the ambassadors of the Soviet Union, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. In particular, Mr. Vien Hong Quang also donated 24 valuable documentary films recording Uncle Ton's revolutionary activities from 1964 - 1976 to the museum.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has also just issued a decision approving the investment policy for the project to restore and embellish the national historical relic of President Ton Duc Thang's memorial site in the Ba Son area, contributing to preserving and promoting the value of the relic associated with the life and revolutionary career of Uncle Ton, in order to educate traditions and nurture national pride for today's and future generations.

Previously, Ton Duc Thang Museum awarded the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Children's Painting Contest with Uncle Ton in 2025 with the themes: Ton Duc Thang Museum - New look , Ton Duc Thang worker with Ba Son workshop and Uncle Ton with the South .
