Japan ranks third in foreign investment in Dong Nai

(DN) - On the morning of August 5, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang received and worked with the delegation of leaders and businesses of Hyogo province (Japan) led by Deputy Governor of Hyogo province Hattori Yohei.

Hyogo Prefecture Vice Governor Hattori Yohei shared: Dong Nai and Hyogo Prefectures signed a Joint Statement in 2013 to create a favorable environment for investment activities from Hyogo Prefecture to Dong Nai Province. Up to now, through visits by working delegations and many other exchange activities, the friendly relationship between the two sides has been increasingly consolidated and developed more deeply.

In recent times, Vietnam and Japan have promoted bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and security. At the same time, both countries affirmed the importance of enhancing exchanges between localities of the two countries.

According to Mr. Hattori Yohei, Dong Nai is currently developing many industrial parks. This is also a destination favored by Japanese enterprises and desired for investment. In particular, Long Duc Industrial Park (Binh An Commune) is being managed and operated by a business from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and has attracted 6 businesses from Hyogo Prefecture. Mr. Hattori Yohei expressed his gratitude to the Dong Nai provincial government for always supporting Hyogo Prefecture businesses and hopes to continue receiving support from Dong Nai provincial leaders so that Hyogo Prefecture businesses can operate and conduct production and business activities smoothly in the future.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said that Dong Nai province highly values the friendly and effective cooperation relationship between Dong Nai and Hyogo provinces. Over the past decade, this relationship has been continuously strengthened and developed in many fields, especially economics and cultural exchange.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang commented: Hyogo Prefecture is one of the important economic centers of Japan, with strengths in advanced industries such as aerospace, robotics, healthcare, environment and energy. Dong Nai welcomes and is ready to welcome Hyogo Prefecture businesses to learn about and expand investment in the province.

Dong Nai is one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign investment. To date, the province has attracted 51 countries and territories to invest in nearly 2,200 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. The total registered investment capital in Dong Nai is over 51 billion USD. Of which, Japan has 288 projects with a total investment capital of 5.88 billion USD, ranking third in foreign investment in Dong Nai.

The strong development of the FDI business community in general and Japanese businesses in particular in Dong Nai province has contributed significantly to the economic development of the province, creating jobs for workers, promoting the development of industry, trade and services. FDI enterprises have been, are and will be important driving forces for economic development. Dong Nai province is proud to be one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign investment. With a spirit of sincere cooperation, Dong Nai province is committed to creating the most favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, investment environment, support for legal procedures, human resources, etc. so that Hyogo province enterprises can invest effectively and develop sustainably in Dong Nai.

Provincial leaders hope that after the visit of Hyogo prefectural leaders, there will be more specific cooperation programs between the two provinces, opening a new stage of development in friendly relations, towards common interests, for the prosperous development of both localities.
