On September 1, a representative of Military Hospital 175 ( Ministry of National Defense ) said that, in the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2), the unit's leaders had just visited musician The Hien - an artist with many outstanding contributions to revolutionary music and the Vietnamese youth movement.

Previously, in September 2024, the artist community shared information that People's Artist The Hien was seriously ill and had to be treated for lung cancer at the Institute of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Military Hospital 175 (HCMC).

At that time, the author of the song "Wild Orchid Branch" had to breathe oxygen, his health was critical.

Thanks to the active treatment of doctors, he overcame the danger and continued to fight the disease for a year now. Currently, the artist is being cared for at home by his family.

Musician Thế Hiển was born in 1955, used to work in the Bong Sen Song and Dance Troupe, touring many times to serve audiences nationwide. He is called "the soldier's musician" thanks to composing many songs such as: Hat ve anh, Nhanh lan rung, Tiếng, Vo oc bien, Noi nho tu dao xa...
