People are coordinating with authorities to salvage a sunken fishing boat on Nhat Le River.

On January 12, the People's Committee of Bao Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province - said that a fishing boat had just sunk on the Nhat Le River, causing great damage.

According to initial information, the incident occurred at 1 a.m. the same day. When the fishing boat with registration number QB: 111.31-TS was anchored in the area south of Nhat Le 2 bridge, it suddenly broke water. Although it was detected early, due to the water rushing into the hold, the boat quickly sank.

Fishing boat QB 111.31-TS was identified as owned by Mr. Hoang Quan, from Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city. This is the main means of seafood exploitation of Mr. Hoang Quan's family, who has been involved in the fishing industry for many years. Initial statistics show that the estimated damage is up to 100 million VND.

Immediately after receiving the information, local authorities coordinated with functional forces and fishermen in the area to salvage the ship. However, due to the cold night weather and fast-flowing river water, the salvage was not without difficulties.

Authorities recommend that fishermen increase inspections of the condition of their boats when anchored, especially during periods of heavy rain and bad weather.
