Artists do not receive remuneration for art programs supporting people affected by storms and floods

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a Plan to organize art programs to raise funds and support people in northern provinces and cities affected by storms and floods.

The program aims to respond to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , and at the same time promote the power of culture to join hands with the Party and State to quickly restore production and support people to stabilize their lives.

The programs will also arouse patriotism and national pride among people of all walks of life about the nation's noble cultural values, promote the strength of national unity, and share difficulties with people affected by natural disasters.

Accordingly, art programs must ensure timeliness, suitability to the actual situation, true to purpose, meaning and requirements; be organized to attract the attention of a large number of artists and people from all walks of life to actively respond and participate.

Implementing the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Performing Arts has issued an Implementation Plan, deploying it to 12 performing arts units.

Ms. Tran Ly Ly - Acting Director of the Department of Performing Arts said that the art programs to raise funds and support flood victims of the Theaters under the Ministry were highly appreciated by public opinion, supported by the media and press, and reported prominently in newspapers.

In the coming time, the program will continue to take place with many meaningful activities. We hope that theaters and artists will continue to dedicate, share, and contribute to society and our people through their own labor and profession as directed by Minister Nguyen Van Hung.

According to Ms. Tran Ly Ly, the money collected from ticket sales and calls for support in the programs are all public, transparent and a part is paid to the Flood Relief Fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Recently, the Department of Performing Arts chaired a meeting with theaters under the Ministry on organizing art programs to raise funds and support people in northern provinces and cities affected by storms and floods.

At the meeting, representatives of the theaters shared their support and consensus on the Ministry's policy of organizing art programs to raise funds and support people in the northern provinces and cities that suffered heavy losses due to storms and floods.

In particular, all artists and actors of the Ministry do not receive remuneration with the hope of contributing the most to the people.
