Nghe An received more than 9,500 applications for unemployment insurance, down more than 12% compared to the same period in 2024

According to the report of Nghe An Employment Service Center, in the first 6 months of 2025, Nghe An province received 9,556 applications for unemployment insurance, down 12.26% compared to the same period in 2024. This is a positive signal showing that the local labor market is gradually recovering and stabilizing.

Compared to the whole country, Nghe An recorded a lower decrease in the number of applications for unemployment benefits. Specifically, nationwide, there were 390,548 applications for unemployment benefits, down 15.7% compared to the same period in 2024. However, the number of people issued decisions to receive unemployment benefits decreased more sharply than the national average with 7,015 people, down 29%, while the national figure was 345,175 people, down 18.1%.

Notably, 80.67% of employee records in Nghe An were submitted via the National Public Service Portal, showing a positive change in digitizing and simplifying administrative procedures.

However, it is worth noting that in the first half of 2025, Nghe An did not record any cases requiring vocational training support after unemployment, while in the same period in 2024 there were 29 people. A representative of the Provincial Employment Service Center said that the main reason was that driving training facilities - a profession in high demand for workers - were in the process of merging and transferring, so they had not yet accepted unemployed students.

According to the representative of the Provincial Employment Service Center, the trend of workers returning to the market early, along with the effectiveness of job creation policies, has contributed to reducing the demand for unemployment benefits. This is a driving force for the locality to continue improving the quality of public employment services, diversifying vocational training models, and enhancing the operational efficiency of the Unemployment Insurance Fund in the coming time./.
