Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh tourism industry welcomes nearly 18 million visitors, earning tens of thousands of billions of VND

(NLDO) - In the first 6 months of the year, the tourism industry of Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh welcomed a "huge" number of visitors, nearly 18 million visitors, with total revenue of over 34,000 billion VND.

On the afternoon of June 24, at the conference to evaluate tourism development in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Standing Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged many positive changes in the tourism industry.

According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, Thanh Hoa tourism industry is estimated to welcome nearly 10.5 million tourists, an increase of 7.3% over the same period in 2024, reaching 65.6% of the 2025 plan; total tourism revenue is estimated at more than 26,300 billion VND, an increase of 32.8% over the same period, reaching 57.9% of the yearly plan.

The province currently has 57 tourism development plans, of which 49 have been approved and 8 are being implemented. In addition, there are 76 tourism investment and business projects being implemented and operated, with a total registered capital of nearly 152 trillion VND. Of these, 18 projects have been completed and put into operation, and 58 projects are in the process of implementing infrastructure and services.

Thanh Hoa has identified three strategic tourism product lines that need to continue to be developed: sea tourism; cultural - historical - spiritual tourism; and community eco-tourism.

According to a report by the Department of Tourism of Ninh Binh province, in the first 6 months of 2025, tourism activities in the province marked new growth in the number of visitors, number of days of stay and total revenue in all fields.

Accordingly, in 6 months, Ninh Binh tourism industry welcomed more than 7.2 million visitors, an increase of 18.99% over the same period in 2024, reaching nearly 80% of the annual plan. Of which, international visitors reached over 1 million. Notably, the number of overnight guests reached nearly 1.4 million, an increase of over 21% over the same period in 2024. Total tourism revenue in 6 months is estimated at over 7.7 billion VND, an increase of 32.68% over the same period last year, reaching 75.15% of the annual plan.

According to the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, to welcome a "huge" number of visitors, in the first 6 months of the year, Ninh Binh has successfully organized many unique tourism activities with many festivals, in which the highlight is the annual event Ninh Binh Tourism Week "Golden Color of Tam Coc - Trang An".

Thereby, it shows the attractiveness of the province's unique annual tourism event, as well as the efforts and determination to innovate products, making Ninh Binh a leading destination attracting domestic and international tourists.

It is known that in 2025, Ninh Binh tourism industry aims to welcome over 9.1 million visitors, including 2 million international tourists. Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa strives to welcome 16 million visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching 45,500 billion VND.
