RT quoted the Russian Defense Ministry 's announcement, adding that the country's armed forces carried out many attacks with high-precision weapons on Ukrainian military airports on the night of May 28 and the morning of May 29 (local time).

The Russian Defense Ministry also said that the attack targeted Ukrainian command posts, radar systems and fighter jets as well as weapons and ammunition depots. However, information about Ukrainian losses was not mentioned by Russia.

Earlier, on the morning of May 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that on the evening of May 28, Russia carried out one of the largest drone attacks on Kiev since the beginning of the conflict.

Ukrainian media also reported airstrikes across the country, along with claims by the Ukrainian military that it had intercepted nearly all Russian drones.

The Ukrainian Air Force previously announced that it had intercepted 37 out of 40 Kh-101/555 cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS long-range bombers, along with 29 out of 35 “suicide” drones deployed by Russia. The force affirmed that all Russian weapons aimed at the capital Kiev were intercepted.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, several large Ukrainian ammunition depots and military equipment storage sites were attacked near the front line in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions, as well as the Kherson region.
