In the period of 2021 - 2025, the province will effectively implement policies to support restructuring the agricultural sector, especially implementing policies to support restructuring the agricultural sector according to Resolution No. 20 of the Provincial People's Council to increase income for people in rural areas, notably supporting the conversion of rice-growing land to annual crops, fruit trees and combined aquaculture, supporting new rice varieties, fish fry of all kinds...
In 2024 alone, the agricultural sector provided support for more than 805 tons of various rice seeds on an area of over 16,100 hectares to communes, wards and towns in the province; supported 1.52 million fish fry of various types on an area of 115 hectares for households in districts and cities; provided support for 37,000 fish fry...
To improve the operational efficiency of production organization forms, the province continues to guide agricultural cooperatives to convert cooperatives according to the 2023 Law on Cooperatives. Currently, the province has 411 agricultural cooperatives, 264 of which are operating and 21 agricultural cooperatives operating effectively according to regulations. Agricultural cooperatives have gradually met the requirements of socio-economic development, linked and integrated with the implementation of socio-economic development programs and projects in the area and annually made a certain contribution to local income, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety and diversifying service types, increasingly meeting the needs of members and the market.
Identifying the role of science and technology in building new rural areas, in recent times, the province has implemented 145 science and technology topics and projects in the fields of agriculture and forestry.
Research topics focus on testing high-yield, high-quality plant and animal varieties; applying new technical advances to production and life, suitable for farmers' actual production needs.

From the province's support programs, people in rural areas in the province actively promoted economic restructuring, taking livestock as the spearhead, agricultural production towards concentrated commodities, creating a "breakthrough", contributing to the growth of annual agricultural production value, creating a foundation, motivation, and leverage to build new rural areas.
According to statistics, the average growth rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery production value (2010 comparative price) in the province for 5 years (2021 - 2025) is estimated to increase by 3%/year; the economic structure of agriculture, forestry, fishery, crops and livestock has changed positively, forming concentrated agricultural commodity production areas in the province, meeting domestic and foreign consumption needs, gradually moving towards export. The average income per capita in 2024 of the whole province will reach 63 million VND/person/year.
To date, 100% of communes have been recognized as meeting NTM standards. The whole province has 231 villages recognized as model NTM villages; 37 villages recognized as smart villages; 38 communes meeting advanced NTM standards; 8 communes meeting model NTM standards; Yen Lac district has been recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting advanced NTM standards.
The results achieved in the program of building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in the province in the past time will create motivation and foundation so that when Phu Tho province first comes into operation, the program of building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in the period of 2026 - 2030 will continue to be inherited and promoted effectively.
