“Con mai voi non song” is a chamber song with a modern sound, composed by People’s Artist Pham Phuong Thao from the poem by Khanh Duong, arranged by Pham Tuan Anh. The MV was directed by Anh Quan and filmed live at historical sites in Quang Tri such as Thach Han River Wharf, Ancient Citadel, Hien Luong Bridge – Parallel 17, Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery…

Regarding the choice to make a tribute MV with a new song, singer Nguyen Khanh Ly shared that, with the desire to make a product to pay tribute to the previous generation on this meaningful anniversary, the female singer was introduced by People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao to the song "Con mai voi non song" newly composed in the chamber music style, which is her forte.

“The lyrics are simple, sincere and touching, the rhythm is calm but full of loss, making me feel like I am living in the heroic but painful moments of the nation. The song seems to be written just for me,” singer Khanh Ly shared.
Having a solid foundation in vocal technique with over 20 years of professional experience, Khanh Ly said that the most important thing in this MV is not technique but emotion. She puts emotion first to spread the message of gratitude to the previous generation to the audience, especially the young.

People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao highly appreciated her junior's choice and handling: "Khanh Ly has a wide vocal range, even sound, good technique, singing with everything from voice to emotion. She is very intelligent, putting herself in the role of a storyteller, bringing listeners back to the past and then tearing up and yearning in the present. Khanh Ly sings like a "spiritual tour guide", very real, very genuine but also full of grandeur".
Regarding the MV idea, director Anh Quan said that the crew wanted to recreate the memory of the Quang Tri Citadel battle in 1972 with 81 fierce days and nights that went down in history. Sticking to the lyrics, the director built the story of a veteran father taking his daughter back to the old battlefield, to the places that had marked history. That journey is both a way to tell the heroic history for the next generation and a way to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers...
In the MV, singer Khanh Ly not only stands and sings but actually transforms into a daughter accompanying her father, listening to sacred stories of the past.
Enjoying the MV, People's Artist Quoc Hung expressed his emotions and said that the combination of two talented artists Nguyen Khanh Ly and Pham Phuong Thao created emotional resonance. People's Artist Quang Tho is very proud of Khanh Ly - his student and colleague who is currently teaching at the Vietnam Academy of Music with him. This music product shows that the young generation continues the flow of revolutionary music. That is truly admirable.
Sao Mai Khanh Ly said that after completing “Con mai voi non song”, the feeling of gratitude is still full in her heart. She cherishes continuing to make more products about soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and historical stories to continue spreading gratitude and national pride.
