MU bring De Gea back?

Manchester United are reportedly considering bringing David de Gea back to Old Trafford.

According to The Sun , this move comes just days after the legendary goalkeeper left open the possibility of a reunion in a cryptic message to fans.

De Gea is currently playing for Fiorentina, but is believed to have a low exit clause. Contacts between United and the former Spain international have been quietly ongoing since the friendly between the "Red Devils" and Fiorentina last weekend, a match in which he received a warm welcome from the audience and shared that "who knows, we might meet again".

De Gea spent 12 years at MU, making 545 appearances, becoming one of the greatest goalkeepers in the club's history. However, he had to leave in 2023 due to contract disagreements and declining form, making way for Andre Onana.

In his latest statement, coach Ruben Amorim refused to guarantee the number one position to Onana, who has just returned from a hamstring injury, making rumors about De Gea's return even more rampant.

"Onana is not injured but there are others who have played better in pre-season. Next week, I will consider but for this match, I have chosen the best names," said the Portuguese coach.

In addition to De Gea, MU has also contacted Emi Martínez, Gianluigi Donnarumma and John Victor, but no agreement has been approved.
