On November 28, 2024, MISA represented the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance to attend the event "National Cyber Security Incident Response Network Meeting 2024" in Hanoi organized by the Department of Information Security, Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). This is a particularly important event held annually for the National Cyber Security Incident Response Network (Network).
Attending the Conference were representatives of the Department of Information Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, along with representatives of Network members. On the side of MISA, there was the presence of Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Director of Information Security, Mr. Bui Duc Truong - Head of Information Security Department.
Mr. Tran Quang Hung - Director of the Department of Information Security delivered the opening speech.
In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Quang Hung - Director of the Department of Information Security summarized network activities and deployed solutions to strengthen information security and improve the effectiveness of information system recovery.
In particular, Mr. Tran Quang Hung praised MISA 's continuous efforts in leading the CYSEEX Alliance. Thanks to practical activities such as cybersecurity training programs and drills, the Alliance has contributed significantly to raising the awareness and skills of protecting information systems of the business community, especially in the context of increasingly complex cyber attacks.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Director of Information Security shared the topic "Proactively ensuring information security against risks of system intrusion".
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang's presentation received special attention from many delegates.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Head of the CYSEEX Exercise Organizing Committee and Director of MISA Information Security reported on the practical results of anti-phishing and system security exercises. Specifically, in 2024, the CYSEEX Alliance conducted a cybersecurity exercise on 18 systems, detecting 497 vulnerabilities, including 93 serious vulnerabilities. With more than 14,000 employees participating, the Alliance's phishing exercise achieved positive results. Through two exercises, the number of people providing incorrect personal information also decreased sharply by 5 times, partly showing the increased awareness of information security among employees and the importance of Phishing Exercises.
Mr. Quang Hoang also shared his experience in enhancing defense capabilities, emphasizing the role of the SecDevOps model in the software development process, which has contributed to reducing 40% of serious vulnerabilities. Orienting for 2025, CYSEEX will expand its membership, organize monthly combat exercises, and promote the deployment of Threat Hunting techniques to enhance security capabilities for members in the Alliance.
“This will be a solid foundation to help individuals and businesses feel secure in developing in a safer digital environment,” emphasized the representative of the CYSEEX Alliance.
With its tireless efforts, MISA was awarded a certificate of merit for its positive contributions to the activities of the National Cyber Security Incident Response Network in 2024.
MISA and the CYSEEX Alliance were further honored for their participation in supporting the organization of the 2024 National Cyber Security Incident Response Network Conference.
The conference created favorable conditions for MISA and the CYSEEX Alliance and partners to meet and share practical experiences, thereby building a strong information security community together, contributing to protecting Vietnam's cyberspace.
