Love Connection

It has become an annual tradition that during the Month of Action for Children (June), many working groups from departments and agencies in the province set out to visit remote areas, ethnic minority areas, places that care for disabled children, orphans, etc. to bring joy to children.

Not only giving gifts, organizing folk games, group singing and dancing, etc., the groups also incorporate propaganda about the Law on Children, the Law on Gender Equality, explaining preferential policies for children and poor families, etc. These programs not only create a fun, useful, and healthy playground for children but also help parents take better care of their children.

Recently, at Son Hoi Primary and Secondary School (Son Hoa district), the Department of Health and the Phu Yen Firefly Charity Association organized the Love Connection program, giving 450 gifts including school supplies and candy to students in especially difficult circumstances of the school.

On a summer day, the quiet schoolyard suddenly became bustling and jubilant with the sound of drums, trumpets and home-grown performances by the children themselves. Having just finished the school year, not long after being away from school and friends, now having the opportunity to meet again, sharing gifts, the children's faces were radiant with joy. It seemed that the hot summer sun was also gentler, giving way for the children to connect with love.

So Thi Thuy Anh, a second grader, said: When I heard that I would receive gifts and have fun with my friends during the summer, I was very happy. I went to school with my brother very early to wait for my friends. This was the first time I participated in a fun activity during the summer and brought home gifts.

Excited to receive the practical gift, Le Mo H'Tram, an 8th grader, confided: This is a meaningful summer for me. I get to play and interact with my friends; experience community games, group singing... This activity gives me more motivation to study better. I promise to study hard and not drop out of school halfway.

Nay Y Thiec also could not hide his joy: "I am very happy because I can have fun and also receive gifts such as milk, candy... I hope that every summer there will be fun and meaningful activities like this for us to experience."

With the view of giving the best to children, in recent times, the province has implemented many solutions to promote the care, education and protection of children; prioritizing many resources to care for the young buds of the homeland and country.

Mr. Duong Le Toan, Principal of Son Hoi Primary and Secondary School, said: “More than 500 students of the school, many of them have families with many difficulties and hardships. The gifts, art programs, and recreational activities organized by the Department of Health in coordination with other units for the students of the school are the joy of the parents and the school board. Thereby, encouraging the spirit, helping the students have more determination to overcome difficulties in their studies, to have a meaningful summer and childhood. This is also a valuable source of spiritual encouragement for us teachers and students to overcome difficulties, to continue to strive in the teaching and learning process."

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice Chairman of Son Hoi Commune People's Committee, Son Hoi is a locality with many difficulties, people's lives are still difficult, but thanks to the joint efforts of organizations, the learning conditions of students here are increasingly improved, contributing to building a solid foundation for future generations. "Every year we organize the Month of Action for Children, but this year's Month of Action for Children is more fun and exciting because many people are interested. It is meaningful when children can directly listen to the advice of the elders to know how to protect themselves from the risks of life", said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha.

Give the best to children

At social protection centers, which take care of orphans and children in difficult circumstances in the province, hundreds of meaningful gifts have been presented by agencies, organizations and individuals so that the less fortunate children can have a happy and safe summer. This is also a source of encouragement and motivation for them to overcome their inferiority complex and strive to excel in their studies and life.

Ms. Pham Thi Minh Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, said: With the view of giving the best to children, in recent times, the province has implemented many solutions to promote the care, education and protection of children; prioritizing many resources to care for the young buds of the homeland and the country.

Many activities for children are widely deployed by departments, branches and localities such as: Organizing the Month of Action for Children, Children's Forum, Mid-Autumn Festival; ensuring a safe living environment, preventing accidents, injuries, drowning, child abuse and violence; visiting, giving gifts, praising poor children and children in special circumstances who are exemplary in their spirit of overcoming difficulties and excelling in their studies; praising exemplary groups and individuals who are dedicated to contributing and dedicating themselves to the work of caring for, educating and protecting children. At the same time, maintaining the child protection system in the community in communes, wards and towns; consolidating and perfecting the commune-level child protection committee and the team of child collaborators in villages, hamlets and neighborhoods.

The Month of Action for Children is not only a communication campaign, but also an opportunity for the whole society to show its deep concern for the future generation. This is a concrete action to contribute to building a prosperous and happy country - where all children can live, study and develop in a safe and loving environment...
