On August 29, the People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, announced that it had just issued a traffic organization plan for the National Day holiday on September 2, focusing on handling hot spots that are often congested during the holiday, ensuring safety and convenience for residents and tourists. According to the plan, the plan will be implemented from August 30 to September 2, the time when Vung Tau is expected to welcome a sudden increase in tourists .
Many regulatory measures are applied on central roads. Specifically, passenger cars with 45 seats or more will be banned from Hoang Hoa Tham Street (from Vo Thi Sau) to avoid congestion. These vehicles will be directed to the Festival parking lot.
During holidays and Tet, Vung Tau often experiences traffic jams, especially on Ha Long and Thuy Van routes.
Phan Chu Trinh, Thuy Van, Ha Long, Quang Trung, Tran Phu streets and the routes leading to Hai Dang Lighthouse will also have additional signs prohibiting turns, U-turns, and stopping to limit traffic conflicts. Particularly, Thuy Van street, a coastal route with a large concentration of tourists, will have 12 signs prohibiting left turns and U-turns at many intersections.
Vung Tau Ward People's Committee has deployed a total of 54 personnel, including: Ward Police, military forces and grassroots security forces, in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police to regulate at key locations. The on-duty force will be concentrated from 6pm to 9pm, the time when tourists flock to the beach, restaurants and entertainment areas.
To reduce pressure, the city maintains 21 existing parking lots and opens 4 temporary lots on the sidewalk of Thuy Van Street to serve the needs of motorbike parking. The ward People's Committee assigned the Military Command to take care of the parking lots, and the revenue is paid into the budget after deducting expenses. Temporary parking lots for events are also arranged at the old tourist market land and the area around the martyrs' temple.
On the occasion of September 2 this year, Vung Tau ward has many special activities, especially the Art Performance Program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2; 80th anniversary of the Saigon Uprising to seize power (August 25, 1945 - August 25, 2025).
