Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang has taught at many major universities. Currently, he works at Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.

Influenced by 3 teachers

Born in 1983 in Bac Ninh , a land with a rich tradition of learning, the three people who had a great influence on Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang's life were all teachers.

First is his father - Mr. Ngo Ngoc Quoc, a political lecturer with over 65 years of Party membership, who worked at the local Propaganda Committee. It was his father who early on inspired him about the social mission of teachers and the sustainable role of knowledge in development.

The seeds of responsibility and love for education in Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang's heart blossomed even more when he met Mr. Lam Minh Chau - Coach of the National Chess Team, who taught him about calmness and discipline.

The third person is Professor Georg Stadtmann, his supervisor at Europa Viadrina University (Germany). Professor Georg Stadtmann wholeheartedly taught him and trained him to be patient and able to withstand high pressure to pursue his research properly and effectively.

The example of those respected teachers gave Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang a lot of motivation. Therefore, instead of completely devoting himself to the field of corporate finance with many attractive development opportunities, he still wanted to devote his capacity and passion to the path of education.

Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang's academic journey spanned from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Kaplan Institute (Singapore) and then to Europa Viadrina University - where he successfully defended his doctoral thesis in economics in 2020. The years of studying abroad, especially in Europe, trained him to have sharp logical thinking, independent research ability and discipline - factors that firmly solidified the foundation for his research and teaching career.

Through the process of training, studying, working in many places and collaborating with large organizations at home and abroad, Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang has drawn many valuable and useful lessons for young people.

Skillfully connecting theory with practice

What impresses students about Mr. Ngo Ngoc Quang is not only his rich knowledge but also his enthusiastic and lively teaching style with many academic games and simulation situations. Once, a student compared: "Learning finance with Mr. Quang is like playing chess - both stressful and full of surprises and attraction". Indeed, as a chess player since childhood, he can skillfully and reasonably incorporate the spirit of strategy and discipline into his lectures.

If chess trained Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang to be disciplined and have a systematic way of thinking, then teaching helped him understand how people think and make decisions. He worked hard and diligently to learn new knowledge, updated it according to international standards, and linked it to Vietnamese reality. "I noticed a gradual transformation in the students. From being confused, they gradually became more confident and proactive with their finances," he recalled.

With a dynamic, open personality, rich in courage and expertise, Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang knows how to instill in the minds of learners the belief that financial management is not a distant matter, but a necessary skill for each person to step more firmly in society.

Student Pham Do Quyen, majoring in economics and digital business at Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, always mentions Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang with all respect and gratitude. Quyen feels lucky to be a student of Mr. Quang. Quyen studied with Mr. Quang from the general stage and in the second year, when she started studying the major, she was the class monitor of the class he was in charge of.

Like her classmates, Quyen loves Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang's style and way of speaking. He often creates a light, natural classroom atmosphere; explains problems in a simple way with a "spice" of humor, without being "over the top". Thanks to that, the students' experience is comfortable, and knowledge is easily absorbed. He is very dedicated and always makes students feel listened to; always encourages students to actively learn and try their best.

When teaching the subject "Innovation Economics", Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang organized for the class to learn more from prestigious experts. "The class practiced theories in a very special and unique way. In the process of connecting with the mentor, we really applied the knowledge of the subject" - Quyen said.

Mr. Quang's advice is considered by Quyen and her friends as a guideline: "Don't just study to know, but study to do and dare to do."

Nguyen Le Nhu Quynh, a former student of Foreign Trade University - Campus 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, was guided by Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang to implement the Active Ageing Vietnam project in 2021-2022. Currently holding the position of marketing manager at a multinational corporation, Quynh always cherishes the time under the teacher's guidance.

With his deep expertise in corporate and personal finance, along with his dedicated training ability, Mr. Quang has thoroughly guided the Active Ageing Vietnam project team from its inception to its operation and connection with prestigious organizations in the industry. "The project members are extremely grateful for his dedication throughout the training and project development process, helping us achieve many results in national and international student startup competitions" - Quynh expressed her gratitude.

Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang has edited 3 practical books on personal finance. The most prominent of these is "Understanding Finance" (published by Saigonbooks in 2022). He is implementing many training and consulting programs for businesses as well as individuals.

With the belief that "education is the most sustainable way to change society", Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang is gradually contributing to building a generation of students with systematic thinking, financial management ability and international integration skills.

According to Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang, there are three key factors for young people to easily integrate and assert themselves when stepping out into the world. These are open-mindedness - being ready to adapt and learn new things; cross-cultural communication skills - understanding how others think and do; self-learning ability - knowing how to plan and take responsibility for the results. "Only when you have a progressive spirit, dare to dream and act for your own choices, can you truly integrate" - he emphasized.

In an international working environment, Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang observed carefully and realized that there is no room for "learning tricks" to cope, but learning to apply. The important thing is that systematicity and respect for cultural differences will promote proud achievements.
