LSF supports drinking water filtration systems and necessities for disadvantaged students in Quang Nam

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision 2360/QD-UBND allocating a budget of VND 464 million to implement the non-project "Supporting drinking water filtration systems for schools and necessities for disadvantaged students in the province in 2024" sponsored by Lifestart Foundation Inc (LSF).

Specifically, the non-refundable aid capital from the 2024 foreign official development assistance of Lifestart Foundation Inc (LSF) sponsored the Quang Nam Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations with an amount of VND 464 million to support drinking water filtration systems for schools and necessities for disadvantaged students in the province.

This system has a capacity of 200 liters/hour, equipped with an additional 500-liter stainless steel tank, designed to remove impurities, bacteria, viruses and harmful heavy metals in water, ensuring adequate supply of clean water that meets standards for daily use by students and schools.

In Quang Nam province, from 2021 to present, Lifestart Foundation has supported the installation of a total of 38 water filtration systems with a total value of more than 1.75 billion VND, providing clean water to ensure safety for students and teachers and staff at schools and school locations.

In particular, water filtration systems are installed in extremely disadvantaged communes, disadvantaged communes, and schools and school sites in this area where most of the students are Ca Dong ethnic minority people.

This activity also contributes to improving the health and learning quality of students, improving the work quality of school staff and reducing the risk of digestive diseases and other infectious diseases.

It is known that Lifestart Foundation is a charity - non-profit organization founded in 2000 by Ms. Karen Leonard, an Australian citizen, with the desire to help Vietnamese people in difficult circumstances have a better life.

The two key projects of Lifestart Foundation are theEducation Support Program and the Charity House Building Program. Up to now, Lifestart Foundation has invested an estimated VND33 billion (equivalent to AUD2 million) in education in Central Vietnam.
