Aubameyang parted ways with Al-Qadsiah

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has officially left Al-Qadsiah after just one season in the Saudi Pro League, sparking rumours he will return to Marseille.

Aubameyang left the Saudi Arabian club after only 1 year.

Having joined Al-Qadsiah from Marseille last summer on a two-year deal, Aubameyang was expected to lead the newly promoted side's attack. And he did not disappoint.

21 goals in 36 games in all competitions, including 17 in the national championship, helped the Gabonese striker rank 6th in the list of top scorers in the 2024/25 season. He was also the team's most effective finisher, with 55 shots on target and a conversion rate of 14.7%.

Aubameyang's impressive performances helped Al-Qadsiah finish fourth and reach the final of the King's Cup - although they lost to Al-Ittihad. However, at the age of 36, the former Arsenal striker unexpectedly decided to terminate his contract a year early, becoming a free agent amid offers from Europe.

Marseille - the team where Aubameyang scored 30 goals and had 11 assists in just one season (2023/24) - is considered the most potential destination. If the reunion is successful, this will be a big boost for the Ligue 1 representative's ambitions in the new season.
