Benefits of deferred fertilizer supply

At this time, the family of Ms. Ly Thi Mit, a Nung ethnic group in Dong Thuy village, Kep commune, is focusing on fertilizing pineapples. Last year's pineapple crop, Ms. Mit's family earned about 50 million VND in profit; this year, due to high demand for seeds, her family is focusing on making seeds, both to sell to people in the area and to grow at home. Ms. Mit happily said: "For the past few years, my family has been using fertilizers from Tien Nong Agricultural and Industrial Joint Stock Company (Tien Nong Company) provided by the Commune Farmers' Association in coordination with the fertilizer production unit in the form of deferred payment. Previously, the family had to buy from fertilizer dealers, and if they paid late, they had to pay high interest rates."

It is known that Mrs. Mit's family currently has 4 sao of pineapple, 4 hectares of economic forest and 1.2 acres of rice fields. On average, each year her family registers to buy 1 ton of fertilizer from Tien Nong Company, and only has to pay after 6 months, when the harvest season comes. "The quality of the fertilizer is guaranteed, and the company delivers it to your home, which is very convenient," Mrs. Mit added.

Officials of the Provincial Farmers' Association and Kep commune visited the pineapple garden of Ms. Ly Thi Mit's family.

Dong Thuy village has 372 households, mainly Nung and San Diu ethnic people. With the characteristic of large hilly and forest land, the demand for fertilizer is high. Ms. Vi Thi Phuong, Head of the Village Farmers' Association, said: "In 2023, when we implemented the program for members to buy fertilizer on installment, people were still hesitant and did not know the quality, so they only registered to buy 2-3 tons. However, after a period of use, they found it effective, and there were many incentives for installment payment, so in the last spring-winter crop, the whole village bought more than 60 tons of fertilizer from Tien Nong Company."

According to the Provincial Farmers' Association, from 2015 to present, the Tien Nong Fertilizer Supply Program with deferred payment has been implemented in the province with many positive results; in the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop alone, through the Farmers' Association system at all levels, the entire Bac Giang province (old) has supplied more than 6,000 tons of various types of fertilizers, providing timely support to farmers in production, especially in key areas.

Entering the summer-autumn crop of 2025, the Provincial Farmers' Association continues to accompany and support farmers in production and has signed a contract with Tien Nong Company to maintain the program of providing deferred fertilizers throughout the province. Fertilizers are focused on 5 types: NPK used as basal fertilizer for crops; NPK used as top dressing, fast growth; NPK specialized for fruit trees, industrial crops; NPK suitable for rice, color crops and organic fertilizer to improve soil, supplement biological nutrients.

Mr. Dao Duy Huu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: "We are focusing on directing all levels of the association to closely coordinate with local authorities to promptly and fully inform each member about new points in the organization and implementation after the province's merger, especially the practical benefits that the program brings. At the same time, we will provide specific instructions on the process of registration, receiving goods, using and paying on time."
