iPhone 17 Air revealed

The photo posted on social network X recently by "rumor expert" Majin Bu shows the back of the phone with the familiar Apple logo and a horizontal camera cluster. Notably, the camera cluster has only one hole for the lens, the remaining smaller hole is for the flash.

According to PhoneArena, this is most likely the iPhone 17 Air - the super thin version of the iPhone line. Because, previously, there was a source revealing that this version only has a single lens, but has an extremely thin and light design.

After these images appeared, many people thought of the camera of Google Pixel 9 (launched in August 2024). Some users were excited about this change from Apple because it was different from the current square camera cluster. However, there were also opinions that this was a rumor and this information was later denied.

Previously, there was a source revealing: Apple will release an ultra-thin iPhone model called iPhone 17 Air in 2025 to replace iPhone 17 Plus with a 6.6-inch screen, upgraded to ProMotion technology, 120Hz refresh rate (twice as high as iPhone 16 Plus), providing a better gaming and movie watching experience.

Sources reveal: iPhone 17 Air can be equipped with a TDDI OLED screen to bring the thinnest design ever. It is known that the TDDI OLED screen (Touch and Display Driver Intergration) was recently launched by Taiwanese company Novatek. TDDI technology combines the touch sensor and driver into one layer to create an ultra-thin panel. Thanks to this solution, the smartphone reduces the thickness by a few millimeters. According to 9to5mac, the 17 Air can be about 6mm thin.

However, analyst Ming Chi-Kuo has just revealed that the device is 5.5mm thin. If this information is correct, this will be the thinnest iPhone model ever. Thus, it will be 30% thinner than the iPhone 16, 16 Plus and 33% thinner than the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to launch in September this year at the same price as the Plus version and start at $800.
