The Vietnamese women's volleyball team, the defending champions of the 2023 and 2024 AVC Challenge Cup, is at the peak of its form, ranked 32nd in the world and 5th in Asia.
Under the guidance of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the team underwent intensive training in Quang Ninh , focusing on physical fitness, tactics and competition psychology. Fitness expert Karl Lim said the players had followed the training plan well with two training sessions per day, ensuring endurance and avoiding injuries.
Meanwhile, the Hong Kong (China) women's volleyball team is ranked 60th in the world, 28 places below Vietnam, and is not highly regarded in this tournament. At the AVC Challenge Cup 2024, they lost 0-3 to Vietnam in the opening match. The Hong Kong (China) team mainly relies on young hitters who lack international competition experience. Their strengths are their fighting spirit and tenacious defense, but their attack lacks the sharpness to create breakthroughs against strong teams.
With careful preparation, an outstanding squad and home field advantage, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is expected to have no difficulty in winning convincingly against Hong Kong (China). This is an opportunity for Thanh Thuy and her teammates to perfect their playing style and prepare mentally for the upcoming difficult matches.
