Quality "blue army"

To prepare for the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship taking place in late August in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's team plans to play international matches with Spain and Kenya at Dong Anh Stadium.

The Vietnamese women's team will prepare well before participating in the World Championship.

Initially, the Vietnamese women's team was scheduled to play against Kenya on the evening of August 16, but because the African team arrived in Vietnam late, the match was postponed to August 19.

Therefore, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will face Spain, ranked 32nd (10 places below Vietnam) tonight.

The Spanish women's team is a fairly good team in Europe. They participated in the 1992 Olympics (8th place) and participated in the World Championship twice (highest achievement was 20th place in 1982).

Spain also participated in the European Championship 8 times with the highest position being 9th place (in 2009).

The Spanish women's team is considered to have a fairly even squad, their players have good height so they promise to be quality "blue troops" for the Vietnamese women's team.

Aiming for good results

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's team just won the second round of SEA V.League 2025 and defeated the Thai women's team for the first time.

This championship will be a great motivation for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team to confidently look forward to friendly matches, especially the World Cup at the end of August in Thailand as well as the 33rd SEA Games at the end of the year.

In terms of personnel, the Vietnamese women's team still retains the same squad that competed in SEA V.League 2025.

With their rising form, determination, and support from home ground and home fans, the Vietnamese women's team is expected to achieve good results in friendly matches before going to Thailand to compete in the world tournament.

The friendly match between the Vietnam women's team and Spain will be broadcast live on VTVCab's digital platforms ON Sports, VTV Prime and ON Plus applications.
