One of the notable new points in this year's 10th grade entrance exam is the adjustment of the way the admission score is calculated. Instead of multiplying the coefficient by 2 for Math and Literature as in previous years; in 2025, the admission score will be the total score of 3 subjects (Math, Literature, Foreign Language), each subject is calculated on a 10-point scale and does not have a coefficient. This calculation method aims to ensure fairness between subjects and encourage students to study all subjects equally.

The formula for calculating the admission score (Score) for grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools in Hanoi in 2025 is as follows:

DXT = Math score + Literature score + Foreign language score + priority score (if any) + incentive score (if any).

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training on the organization of the Foreign Language exam for the 10th grade entrance exam in 2025, which took place on the afternoon of June 7, the number of candidates taking the exam was 102,434 out of 102,860 registered candidates, reaching a rate of 99.59%. Thus, 426 candidates were absent from the exam.

By the end of the first day of the 10th grade exam, there was only one candidate who violated the exam regulations by bringing a cell phone into the Foreign Language exam room.

The entrance exam for non-specialized public grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year will be held on June 7 and 8; the specialized exam will be held on June 9, 2025.

This year, the whole city of Hanoi has 115,951 candidates registered to take the exam (including 102,860 non-specialized public candidates and 13,091 specialized candidates). Hanoi has arranged 4,411 exam rooms and 201 exam locations in 30 districts, towns and cities.
