VinFuture Awards 2024: Honoring "world-changing" research

The program will be broadcast live from 8:10 p.m. on VTV1 - Vietnam Television and rebroadcast on many online platforms. This is a special moment that is awaited by the science and technology community around the world. Because the Award will honor breakthrough inventions and technologies that contribute to improving the quality of life of millions of people on earth and promoting the development of many industries and services that are important to humanity. After the echo of the previous 3 seasons, VinFuture 2024 has attracted a record number of nearly 1,500 research projects, nominated by more than 9,000 partners from more than 80 countries and territories around the world. The number of international scientists becoming nominating partners increased nearly 8 times, the number of nominations increased 2.5 times compared to the first season, demonstrating the stature, influence and international reputation of VinFuture.

The 4th VinFuture Awards Ceremony will gather hundreds of the world's most outstanding "brains" in key fields and contribute to shaping the future development of the world, such as materials science, artificial intelligence, medicine, environmental research, etc. Among them are many researchers who are winners of prestigious international awards, such as Nobel, Millennium Technology, Turing, etc. and winners of previous VinFuture Awards. In addition, VinFuture 2024 also attracts special attention from the public with the presence of leading names in the world and Vietnam in the field of culture and arts. According to information from the Organizing Committee, the "21st century world rock monument" - Imagine Dragons band will bring explosive and meaningful performances with unique and modern music. Meanwhile, Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, violinist Hoang Ho Khanh Van, and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet will sublimate in performances imbued with the traditional identity and modern beauty of Vietnam. With the message "Resilient breakthrough", VinFuture 2024 will honor groundbreaking and far-reaching research and inventions, helping humanity to overcome difficulties and reach new heights. As usual, this year's VinFuture award system consists of 4 categories. Of which, the main award is worth more than 76 billion VND, equivalent to 3 million USD, and is one of the largest annual awards ever globally. Three special awards, each worth nearly 13 billion VND, equivalent to 500 thousand USD, will be awarded to female scientists, scientists from developing countries, and scientists researching new fields.

The VinFuture Prize Council includes prestigious scientists and inventors fromeducational institutions, research institutes and leading technology corporations in the world. The difference of this year's award season is that the program will honor the nominating partners who have made important contributions to the mission of honoring and promoting science to serve humanity. Before the award ceremony, scientists predicted the fields that will be honored at this year's award.
