(Dan Tri) – This morning, August 8, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Hanoi), a solemn flag-raising ceremony took place to celebrate the 57th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations – ASEAN.

This morning, on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations - ASEAN (August 8, 1967 - August 8, 2022), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs solemnly organized the 2024 ASEAN flag-raising ceremony at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (No. 1 Ton That Dam, Hanoi ).
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ambassadors, Chargé d'Affaires, and representatives of ASEAN Embassies in Hanoi.
At exactly 7:30 a.m., Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet chaired the ceremony, witnessed by Ambassadors of ASEAN countries, leaders of ministries, branches, Hanoi People's Committee and related units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet affirmed the increasingly strong role and position of ASEAN. In the context of a volatile, unpredictable world situation with conflicts and divisions, ASEAN continues to be a model of success in regional cooperation and integration. With the policy of "ASEAN cooperation and integration is the top priority and strategic choice", Vietnam has always made efforts and devotedly contributed to a united and strong ASEAN.
Immediately after Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet spoke, the flag-raising ceremony took place solemnly by the Military Honor Guard.
The ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony is held annually on the occasion of ASEAN's founding anniversary on August 8, demonstrating a united, strong and dynamic regional organization, playing a central role in regional cooperation mechanisms and processes, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
At the end of the Flag Raising Ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet took a commemorative photo with ASEAN Ambassadors and domestic and international guests attending.
During the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, ASEAN focuses on implementing master plans on all three pillars of Politics-Security, Economy and Culture-Society; expanding and deepening foreign relations, consolidating ASEAN's central role in the evolving regional structure, while enhancing connectivity and narrowing the development gap.
