On the morning of June 25, Quang Ninh province coordinated with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) to hold a ceremony to officially announce the opening of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate pair, including the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Ly Hoa (China) customs clearance.

Delegates performed the ceremony to officially announce the opening of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate pair at Hoanh Mo border gate (Binh Lieu, Quang Ninh, Vietnam).

Attending the announcement ceremony, on the side of Quang Ninh province (Vietnam), there were Mr. Vu Van Dien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities. On the side of Guangxi province (China), there were Mr. Dam Phi Sang, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; delegates representing relevant departments, branches, agencies and units.

The official announcement ceremony of the opening of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate pair, including the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Ly Hoa (China) customs clearance, took place in parallel at the Hoanh Mo - Dong Trung bilateral border gate pair and the Bac Phong Sinh - Ly Hoa customs clearance.

The official announcement ceremony of the opening of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate pair, including the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Ly Hoa (China) customs clearance, is a step to concretize the viewpoints, goals, orientations and solutions to implement the development plan of the Hoanh Mo - Dong Van border gate economic zone and Bac Phong Sinh border gate economic zone, which have been approved and directed for implementation by the Government, the Prime Minister, central ministries, branches and Quang Ninh province.

The event is also one of the contents that concretizes the results of the official visit to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) by the high-ranking delegation of Quang Ninh province in February 2024, contributing to strengthening the friendly exchange relationship and comprehensive cooperation in all fields between Quang Ninh province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Vu Van Dien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of the two provinces and regions in completing the procedures to announce the pair of bilateral border gates Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China), including the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Ly Hoa (China) customs clearance.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, in order to do well the work of building, managing and operating the system of border gates and openings on the land border of Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) in general and at the bilateral border gate pair of Hoanh Mo/Vietnam - Dong Trung/China, including the customs clearance of Bac Phong Sinh/Vietnam - Ly Hoa/China in particular, the two sides continue to pay attention to closely coordinating in planning, opening, building and managing the system of border gates and openings, focusing on strong investment in both infrastructure and modern equipment at the border gates, creating favorable conditions for people, vehicles entering and exiting, import and export goods and promoting cross-border trade cooperation, especially developing the tourist market between the two sides.

A large number of ethnic people in Binh Lieu and Hai Ha districts (Quang Ninh, Vietnam) attended the announcement ceremony.

Along with that, continue to well implement the 3 legal documents on the Vietnam - China land border and related agreements; direct the functional forces at the border gates to actively and effectively coordinate the operation of the construction of the Hoanh Mo - Dong Trung bilateral border gate pair, including the civilized and modern Bac Phong Sinh - Ly Hoa customs clearance, ensuring security and safety, creating all favorable conditions for customs clearance, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the localities on both sides.

In addition, it is necessary to continuously deepen mutually beneficial substantive cooperation between the two localities; strengthen cooperation exchanges, actively research and propose effective border gate management models, such as digital border gate models, smart border gates, etc. to improve customs clearance efficiency at border gate pairs, focusing on facilitating cross-border tourism activities, closely coordinating, speeding up the construction of routes and tourist spots connecting to Hoanh Mo - Dong Trung border gate, including Bac Phong Sinh - Ly Hoa customs clearance, contributing to the development of border tourism between localities on both sides.

After the announcement ceremony, many import and export shipments were cleared by both sides.
