"Cultural family" is the premise for the national solidarity movement
Speaking at the Conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong emphasized: “The movement to build Cultural Families is one of the important contents of the campaign “All people unite to build a cultural life”, which is the root and premise for other cultural models. After more than 20 years of implementation, the movement has spread widely among all classes of people in the capital, contributing to building a civilized lifestyle, building a healthy cultural environment and community solidarity. The 80 families honored today are not only exemplary examples of cultural life, but also models of solidarity, love, sharing, and responsibility to society.
We are proud to witness families who have overcome difficulties, built a prosperous and happy life, raised successful children, and contributed to the development of the capital. There are families who have preserved and promoted traditional occupations and cultures; there are families who actively participate in social activities, charity, and environmental protection; and there are families who are a solid support for the community in the most difficult times. All of these contributions are valuable and need to be spread.”
The ceremony to honor exemplary cultural families of the capital was held for the first time in Hanoi in 2023 with 30 families being honored. In 2024, 87 families were honored. In 2025, the exemplary families honored represented families: Religion, ethnicity, veterans, businessmen, police, army, teachers, cadres, civil servants, workers, farmers, women, youth, etc.

The City's typical cultural families are selected based on the following criteria: Family members are exemplary in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and laws of the State; actively participate in emulation movements in labor, production, study, and protection of security, order, and social safety in the locality; the family is prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized; regularly unites, supports, and helps in the community; has been recognized as a "Cultural Family" for 3 consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024).
In addition, there are outstanding achievements such as: Traditional families with many generations living together in harmony and happiness; families that encourage learning and talent; families that preserve and promote cultural values and traditional craft villages; families that actively participate in sports, culture and arts activities; ethnic minority families that have made many contributions to local development; families that are good at production and business; families that actively participate in social, charitable and humanitarian activities...
Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong also affirmed that in the context of Hanoi gradually striving to become a modern, smart city, but still maintaining its unique cultural identity, the role of cultural families is becoming more and more important. We need to continue to promote good values, build prosperous, equal, progressive, happy families, and at the same time contribute to the implementation of the sustainable development goals of the capital. The city is committed to continuing to create conditions and support cultural movements, encouraging the participation of all classes of people to build a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Hanoi. Today's 80 typical cultural families are the 80 most beautiful flowers representing more than 2 million households, spreading beautiful fragrance towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)".

Building a cultural family is a responsibility and obligation to society.
At the Conference, delegates also listened to families share their experiences in building “Cultural Families” in localities, how each family maintains peace, harmony, and warmth, develops the economy together, and builds a prosperous and happy life. From there, they join hands to build the Capital and the country to become increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Anh (La Khe ward, Ha Dong district) representing the cultural families said that to achieve today's title, the entire family including grandparents, children and grandchildren have always strived to be a shining example in each small family and in the extended family. A shining example of building a family tradition of solidarity and mutual care in taking care of health, in studying and working, and in cultural and spiritual life. The family is the cell of society. Healthy cells make the body strong, strong bodies make the cells develop. Therefore, striving to build a cultural family is both a responsibility to society and a responsibility to one's own family.
Listening to the heartfelt sharing from the typical cultural families, we understand and appreciate the efforts of each member of each family to join hands in building a thousand-year-old capital, a city for peace, a capital of conscience and human dignity. To recognize the typical cultural families, at the Conference, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee to 80 typical cultural families of the Capital in 2025.

On this occasion, the City also organized many activities and cultural spaces to celebrate the 24th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 - June 28, 2025). This activity aims to attract the participation of families, thereby contributing to creating connections among family members. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for families in the city to exchange and share. These are spaces to display photos of typical cultural families; spaces to display books and documents about families; spaces for scholars; spaces to preserve family photos; spaces to depict portraits of family members.

Coming to this cultural space, portraits of family members are depicted with vivid strokes, creating impressive photos and giving them to families. This is not only a cozy, intimate space but also shows love, solidarity, and attachment among family members.
