Building a cultural family is one of the pillars of the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life; at the same time, contributing to the building of Long An human culture. In the current period, the family is both a place to preserve and promote the good traditions of the nation, and to filter and supplement the values of the times to become a solid foundation, a place to form, nurture andeducate useful individuals, contributing to the construction of the homeland.

In recent years, family work in the province has always received attention. All levels and sectors, especially the Department of Culture, have been implementing many practical activities in family work with the goal of building a sustainable home: Safe, responsible, prosperous and equal. In that spirit, the work of disseminating and popularizing legal knowledge and educating about family life has been carried out by all levels, sectors and localities. Direct legal dissemination activities, consulting, guidance on learning the law as well as training on pre-marital education, equipping knowledge about marriage, family, etc. are regularly organized by departments, sectors and organizations, attracting tens of thousands of participants each year.

The models of Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean; Family of 5 yes, 3 clean are integrated with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", creating positive effects in the community. More than 2,500 propaganda sessions on responsible families in ensuring traffic safety with more than 85,000 participants, contributing to raising awareness of law compliance and civic responsibility in each family.

In addition, the Family Conduct Criteria has also been widely and deeply deployed among the people through propaganda activities, thereby gradually helping family work to be associated with practical needs and closer to people's lives. Each program and model when deployed aims at the ultimate goal of making family life better, raising children better, thereby contributing to social stability.

Among the models and programs spreading family values, the model of the Parents' Group with children aged 0-8 years old organized by the Women's Union (WU) has brought about quite practical results, creating a space for regular activities and sharing for WU members, especially families with children aged 0-8 years old. In Can Giuoc town, Can Giuoc district (the place chosen as the model's pilot), there are about 30 WU members participating in the group, organizing regular quarterly activities, helping parents update their knowledge of caring for and educating young children in the early stages of life, which is considered the "golden period" for children's personality and physical development.

Through coordination with health and population officials, the group provides information on common childhood diseases such as dengue fever, hand-foot-mouth disease, and rubella; at the same time, guides parents on how to detect early signs of abnormalities and disabilities for timely intervention. The model also supports skills in organizing family life, adjusting children's behavior, and orienting children's emotions and intelligence for harmonious development.

“This is a practical model, providing basic knowledge to help women's union members, people and model members have good child-rearing methods, contributing to the locality in solving social problems” - President of the Women's Union of Can Giuoc district - Huynh Thi Tuyet Hong affirmed.

In the period of strong development of information technology, communication through various types of press and social networks such as YouTube, Facebook, Zalo is emphasized. Forms of propaganda are expanded and diversified. Propaganda information is not only conveyed through banners, slogans or radio programs but also presented in the form of mp3 files, infographics,...

This not only demonstrates the province's communication effectiveness but also demonstrates the people's strong interest in family issues, law and civic responsibility.

Love connection

Not only focusing on propaganda and education, the province also attaches importance to organizing cultural activities to connect families. Every year, on the occasion of International Day of Happiness (March 20), Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) and National Action Month on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the province organizes competitions, festivals, seminars and exchanges with exemplary families, contributing to honoring the role of families in social development. In particular, the Festival of Exemplary Cultural and Sports Families; the Conference to Honor Exemplary Cultural Families are the highlights.

In addition, the province also selected typical cultural families to participate in the Festival of Typical Cultural Families of the provinces and cities in the Southwest region - a practical activity to promote the prevention of domestic violence, gender equality, protection of children's rights, and promotion of reading culture in families; contributing to building and perfecting the "cultural value system, national value system, family value system and Vietnamese human value system in the new situation".

Ho Van Kin's family is one of the typical cultural families of the province.

Having represented the province to participate in the Festival of Outstanding Cultural Families of the provinces and cities of the Southwest, the family of Ho Van Kin and Pham Thi Ngoc Nu considers it a special memory, helping family members to love and bond more. They have two daughters, Ho Ngoc Gia Han and Ho Ngoc Kha Han. The children are all well-behaved, good at studying and enthusiastically participate in movement activities. Love, harmony, and mutual support for development are the reasons why the family of Kin and Nu were chosen to represent the province to participate in the Festival of Outstanding Cultural Families of the provinces and cities of the Southwest.

To prepare for the talent family competition, Mr. Kin's family prepared the script and rehearsed, so the whole family had more time together. Through the competition, the children gained more experiences and useful lessons. Ms. Nu emotionally shared: "The Typical Cultural Family Festival is a special occasion for my husband and I to accompany our children to have fun and practice. Every time we participate in the festival, the family has another deep and joyful memory."

Family work in Long An does not stop at propaganda programs but has spread into specific actions, gradually penetrating into people's lives. Models of raising children, improving parenting knowledge, cultural activities, legal education, etc. have been effectively implemented and are contributing to supporting the building of a warm family.
