For the first time, University of Economics has a field in the world's top 400

The Department of Accounting and Finance, University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi is ranked in the top 400 in the world according to the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2025.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has just announced the results of theuniversity rankings in 55 fields belonging to 5 field groups of 1,747 higher education institutions with about 21,000 training programs at universities.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 (QS WUR by Subject 2025), Hanoi National University has a strong breakthrough with 2 groups of fields and 12 fields ranked (of which 10/12 fields are in the top 500).

Of the 12 subjects the university is ranked in the QS WUR by Subject 2025, 5/12 are ranked for the first time, 5/12 have increased their ranking position compared to the previous term and 1 subject is ranked again.

The School of Economics ' Accounting and Finance field is ranked 301-375 in the world.

In the QS WUR by Subject 2025 ranking, this university also has 2 groups of fields re-ranked: Engineering and Technology group (top 451-500) and Social Sciences and Management group (top 501-500).

Among the fields ranked by QS, there are 4 fields/field groups in the top 400, 7 fields/field groups ranked in the top 500.

The Accounting and Finance department of the University of Economics was ranked for the first time in the world's top 301-375. The citations per paper score of this department was 86.2. In addition, two other departments of the University of Economics were also ranked this time: Economics and Econometrics (top 401), Business and Management (top 450).

Mathematics increased its ranking position and entered the world top 301-350 for the first time. This is also a field that is ranked consistently at a high position and has increased steadily over the past 6 rankings.

The field of Law and Legal Sciences is ranked for the first time in the world top 351-400. Hanoi National University is also the only higher education institution in Vietnam ranked in this field.

The Engineering and Technology field group returns to the 451-500 world ranking and remains stable with 1 newly ranked field and 2 fields increasing their ranking position.

The Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing field increased its ranking position to the top 401-450 with an increase in score from 51.5 to 55.3 points. This is the field that has been ranked for 6 consecutive years, starting from the 2019 ranking period until now.

The QS WUR by subject 2025 rankings are based on 5 criteria with weights customized to suit each field, including: academic reputation, recruitment reputation, average citation rate per scientific publication, H-index measuring the productivity and impact of scientific publications of the teaching staff, and international research network.

QS's ranking criteria emphasize the contribution and impact of the training quality of a training industry/field on society (through the assessment of scholars and employers), contributions to scientific research activities (through the level of citations and H-index) and the ability to internationalize scientific research (through international research networks).
