Lam Dong awards 200 million to student who won Silver Medal at International Olympiad in Informatics

On August 22, at Thang Long High School for the Gifted, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to commend and reward students with outstanding achievements in the 2024-2025 school year.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee awarded a prize of 200 million VND to Dang Huy Hau, a 10th grade IT student at Thang Long High School for the Gifted, who just won a Silver Medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).

Lam Dong provincial leaders presented 200 million VND to Dang Huy Hau.

Along with that, the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province awarded a certificate of merit to teacher Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, who is directly in charge of the IT team and silently contributes behind the success of his students.

At the age of 15, Dang Huy Hau was the first person to bring an international medal to Lam Dong province. Within just one school year, he continuously established an impressive list of achievements: Top scorer in Informatics at the National Excellent Student Competition with a perfect score of 100/100; Second prize in the National Olympic Team Selection Competition; Silver Medal in Asia- Pacific Informatics and Silver Medal in IOI.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to two students: Tran Vinh Khang (grade 12, IT major, Thang Long High School for the Gifted) is the valedictorian of block D07 in the 2025 high school graduation exam; Doan Thien An (grade 12A1, Ham Thuan Bac High School) is the valedictorian of block A00 in the Southeast region of Lam Dong province.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman to the valedictorians of the 2025 High School Exam.

In addition, 12 other students with high scores in the 2025 high school graduation exam were also awarded certificates of merit and rewards by the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province according to regulations.
