Lai Chau organizes many activities to celebrate Independence Day

The 2025 Independence Day will be held by Lai Chau province in Than Uyen commune and some neighboring communes from August 30 to September 2.

2025 is the second time Lai Chau organizes Independence Day at the provincial level.

According to the Organizing Committee, this occasion will have many special cultural, artistic, sports and tourism activities.

Highlights include the Art Program to celebrate Independence Day and the Solidarity Xoe Circle; “Non nuoc Khoen On” Festival; “Huong sac Muong Than” Festival; exchanges between Thai ethnic cultural preservation clubs; Traditional culinary contest, rice cake pounding contest of Than Uyen, Muong Than, Muong Kim, Khoen On communes; and activities to experience folk games, cultural performances of ethnic groups in the Thai, Mong, Dao, Kho Mu cultural space.

There will be many activities taking place during Independence Day 2025.

Besides, there is the KOMOMO Than Uyen International Running Race 2025; ethnic sports competitions; the first Than Uyen Commune Open Pickleball Tournament; Swallow-tailed boat racing; and a motorized paragliding flight program.

Tourism activities include displaying and promoting OCOP products and typical agricultural products of localities in the province, along with 4 communes of Lao Cai and Son La; organizing Nam Pat fair and many activities at tourist destinations such as: Ban Lut historical relic site, Tham Phe fishing village, Pa Khom bay (Muong Kim commune), Chit village pine hill, Sang Nga village water wheel, Na Phat (Muong Than commune)...

There will be many excerpts of ethnic cultural performances at the Thai, Mong, Dao, and Kho Mu cultural spaces.

There will also be a Youth Music Night; an exhibition of books, newspapers, and geographical documents; an art photo exhibition on the topic of ethnic minorities with the theme "Fragrance and Colors of Lai Chau".

The event is also associated with the display and introduction of local products, attracting tourists to explore the potential and strengths of Than Uyen, Muong Kim, Khoen On, Muong Than and the whole province. Thereby, opening up opportunities to develop tourism, trade, promote agricultural products, handicrafts to many markets, aiming to build Independence Day into a unique and special cultural tourism product of Lai Chau.
