Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Khanh Hoa University (August 3, 2015 - August 3, 2025): Step by step transformation, building prestige in human resource training

Khanh Hoa University was established on August 3, 2015 on the basis of merging Nha Trang Pedagogical College and Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts and Tourism. Inheriting the traditions and achievements of teaching and learning of the two schools, over the past 10 years, Khanh Hoa University has gradually transformed itself to build prestige in training, scientific research and community service.

Development in scale and quality

During the 10-year journey of construction and development (2015 - 2025), Khanh Hoa University has made its mark through each stage. If in the first 5 years, the school focused on building the organizational structure, maintaining stable training activities for college majors and gradually developing university training majors, then in the next 5 years, the school expanded its scale and diversified its majors. From 6 university majors in the first academic year, up to now, the school has 18 majors with 30 university majors. Some majors have initially affirmed their quality such as: English Language, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Business Administration, teacher training majors... In the 2024 - 2025 academic year, the school's training scale is more than 6,000 students, including nearly 4,000 full-time university students. The school also implements the form of work-study training for two majors: Primary Education and English Language to meet social needs; cooperates in training more than 30 university majors with prestigious educational institutions in the country; cooperates in organizing short-term training and refresher courses in many majors. Currently, the school is developing a plan and roadmap to open master's and doctoral training majors.

International cooperation activities are increasingly promoted.

In addition to expanding the scale of training, Khanh Hoa University focuses on building and developing training programs. This is considered a key task, playing a key role in the school's comprehensive development strategy. In recent years, activities of reviewing, updating, and perfecting training programs according to the CDIO approach (a modern educational model with 4 stages: Idea formation, design, implementation, operation) have been regularly and continuously implemented to ensure modernity, practicality, and conformity with output standards according to the needs of the labor market. In October 2023, the school had 2 training programs (Mathematics Pedagogy, Tourism and Travel Services Management) recognized as meeting educational quality accreditation standards. In February 2024, the school was recognized as meeting educational institution quality accreditation standards according to the national standards.

In recent years, Khanh Hoa University has received hundreds of billions of VND from the province to upgrade facilities for training, management, scientific research activities, and community service such as: renovating and repairing facility 1, multi-purpose sports area, building a modern library... Administrative reform work in recent years has been ranked well; for many years, the school's administrative reform index has topped the province's public service units. To date, the school has received 16 certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training , the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee.

Aiming to become a high quality training and research center

The school's scientific and technological activities have also made remarkable progress, including 133 articles published in prestigious international journals, 460 topics deployed and applied to training and scientific research. Recently, Khanh Hoa University's Science Journal has 5 majors included in the scoring list of the State Council of Professors, including: Mathematics, Culture - Arts, Tourism, Pedagogy, Biology. Along with that, foreign cooperation activities have been promoted. In the period of 2015 - 2025, the school has organized 151 cooperation activities with universities, colleges, enterprises, and government organizations at home and abroad. Notably, international cooperation with universities and colleges of France, Canada, Korea, Japan, Australia, Russia, the US, Laos, and Vanuatu in the fields of training, scientific research, exchange of lecturers and students, library information, and quality assessment. At the same time, the school signed 63 memorandums of understanding with 58 partners, successfully organized 8 international seminars, and 8 training classes for international students.

Khanh Hoa University is recognized as meeting educational institution quality accreditation standards.

Not only marking achievements in the fields of science and technology and international cooperation, Khanh Hoa University also pays special attention to building a dynamic learning environment for students. Every year, the school organizes many volunteer activities, social work, charity, gratitude, support to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics in and outside the province. Programs such as: "Green Summer", "Spring of Love", "Joining Hands for the Community", art programs serving the community in difficult mountainous areas have left an impression on local people. Students of the school also play an active role in many major political and cultural events of the province.

Khanh Hoa University currently has 14 affiliated and subordinate units, including: 7 faculties, 5 departments, 1 center, 1 library, with a total of 273 officers, civil servants, and employees; including 3 associate professors - PhDs, 30 PhDs, 168 masters. Up to now, the school has had 6 university graduation courses with nearly 2,500 students. The annual graduation rate is over 90%, of which nearly 90% of students have jobs immediately after graduation.

Many playgrounds are organized, attracting active participation of students.

The goal is to become a fully autonomous university, a high-quality training and research center, contributing to the development of the province, region and the whole country."
