In recent times, investment cooperation between Vinh Long province and Korean partners has achieved many positive results in many fields, contributing significantly to the province's economic growth.
Specifically, in 2024, the province's export turnover to the Korean market reached 34.6 million USD, accounting for 8% of total export turnover. The main export items are: leather shoes, textiles, handbags (accounting for 98%), the rest are ceramics, motor vehicle bodies. In addition, the import turnover reached 5.9 million USD, with the main imported items being raw materials for leather shoe production accounting for 79.7%, components for motor vehicle bodies accounting for 15.3%, and raw materials for pharmaceutical production.
Currently, the province has attracted 77 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total registered investment capital of over 1 billion USD. Of which, Korea has 21 projects, ranking 4th in total FDI capital, with a total registered investment capital of about 108 million USD. The main investment sectors and occupations include: production of feed for livestock, poultry, and aquatic products; production of backpacks and handbags; assembly of truck bodies; production of spare parts and accessories for automobiles and other motor vehicles, etc.
