Recommendation not to use fake Truong Tho rheumatism oil

On June 23, Thanh Hoa Department of Health sent a document to localities, medical facilities, and pharmaceutical businesses with recommendations not to use or trade in fake Truong Tho rheumatism oil products.

Thanh Hoa Department of Health said it has just received an official dispatch from the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, Ministry of Health, regarding the handling of counterfeit drugs.

Accordingly, the Can Tho City Department of Health discovered that at Truong Tho Duong Facility (address: 22 Ngo Quyen, Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City), the medicine Truong Tho rheumatism oil produced by the Central Oil Facility (address: 180 Tung Thien Vuong, Ward 11, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) was fake.

To ensure the rights of drug users and prevent counterfeit drugs and drugs that do not meet quality standards from circulating on the market, Thanh Hoa Department of Health requires drug businesses and users across the province to implement the following:

Absolutely do not trade or use fake drugs with information: Truong Tho rheumatism oil produced by the Central Oil Facility (address: 180 Tung Thien Vuong, Ward 11, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

Promptly provide information to the Thanh Hoa Department of Health hotline (0237.3852263) when detecting the above counterfeit drugs, smuggled drugs, drugs of unknown origin.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Center for Disease Control coordinates with media agencies to inform drug businesses and users in the province and people not to trade or use the above-mentioned fake drugs.

Thanh Hoa Testing Center increases sampling and quality testing of drugs circulating in the area for drugs at risk of being counterfeited or of poor quality.

The functional departments of the Department of Health coordinate with competent agencies to inspect and examine pharmaceutical business establishments, verify information and trace the origin of counterfeit drugs; and handle violating units and individuals.

Thanh Hoa Department of Health requested the Department of Industry and Trade to strengthen market management measures to promptly detect, prevent and handle the production and trade of counterfeit drugs.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Police directed police at all levels to inspect, verify, and trace the origin of counterfeit drugs.
