Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh and representatives of relevant Central and Hanoi units.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee said that up to now, Hanoi has 8 bridges across the Red River and Ngoc Hoi Bridge is one of 7 bridges that the city plans to start construction in 2025 to strengthen connectivity with provinces in the capital region.
The investment project to build Ngoc Hoi bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge has a total length of about 7.5km, of which the part in Hanoi is about 5.2km long, the main bridge is about 680m long (main cable-stayed span is 350m long, tower is 126m high) and the part in Hung Yen province is about 2.3km (including the approach road at the bridge head and parallel roads on both sides). The bridge is 38m wide, including 6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles, with a total investment of about 11,844 billion VND, and is scheduled to be completed in 2028.

“After about 4 months of preparation, the investment project to build Ngoc Hoi bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge has met the conditions to start construction according to regulations, meeting the set schedule. 4 months of preparation for a group A project is a record time, demonstrating the determination of the Party Committee, government and people of the capital with the aspiration to change and rise of the capital Hanoi, transforming with the whole country”, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh stated. At the same time, he requested that after the groundbreaking ceremony, the investor and the units participating in the project implementation focus maximum resources, material resources, urgent and scientific construction, ensuring technical, quality, safety, and on schedule.

According to the representative of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investment in the construction of Ngoc Hoi Bridge plays an important role in completing the Ring Road 3.5 route connecting directly with Hung Yen province, combined with the radial road system of Hanoi.
