The basket boat racing and basket boat shaking competition at Nha Trang beach (Khanh Hoa) attracted hundreds of athletes from Khanh Hoa province and neighboring provinces. This is one of the outstanding activities in the Nha Trang Sea Culture and Tourism Festival 2025, contributing to preserving the local traditional cultural identity.

On the morning of June 12, at Marina Beach (Nha Trang City), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province organized a traditional basket boat swimming and shaking competition within the framework of the Nha Trang Sea Culture and Tourism Festival 2025. The tournament attracted 14 teams from localities in Khanh Hoa province, along with the participation of guest teams from Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan and Phu Yen .

The athletes brought an exciting competitive atmosphere, skillful technical performances, demonstrating their endurance and commitment to the seafaring profession. This is a meaningful activity to introduce the unique cultural features in the life of coastal fishermen, at the same time creating a playground for physical training, enhancing exchange and community cohesion.

The two main events of the competition are basket boat swimming and basket tossing with distances of 50 m and 100 m. The basket tossing event requires the athlete to stand on the basket and toss it to move as fast as possible. This event tests the dexterity, endurance and balance technique on the water surface.

Meanwhile, rowing requires pairs of athletes to sit on the basket, using the paddles in coordination to accelerate. Although not as physically demanding as swinging the basket, this event requires delicate rowing techniques and teamwork.

The smooth combination of physical strength, experience and bravery in the face of wind and waves created exciting and captivating moments. The fierce but exciting competition atmosphere, the cheers and encouragement from the shore contributed to painting a vivid picture, imbued with the cultural identity of Nha Trang beach.
