According to the telegram of referee Nguyen Khanh Thi - one of three Vietnamese referees invited to officiate the tournament with colleagues Nguyen Chi Anh and Hoang Thu Trang - this is the first year that the International Dancesport Federation (WDSF) has organized a competition to rank all athletes across Asia, aiming to standardize the level of athletes managed by this organization.

Competing at the Southeast Asian Open Dancesport Championship (countries were allowed to send multiple pairs to compete), the Phan Hien - Nha Khanh dance duo beat strong opponents from Cambodia and Malaysia to win the gold medal in the Latin category. Teammates Nguyen Trung Kien - Pham Hong Anh ranked fourth in this category.

Also competing in the Latin events at the World Open Championship with 32 couples from Australia, Lithuania, Germany, Russia, China, Malaysia, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Romania and host Singapore, after 4 intense rounds, the Phan Hien - Nha Khanh dance couple excellently entered the final round and ranked 6th overall, after five Chinese couples.

Participating in all the competitions to determine the ranking, this top Vietnamese dancer couple reached the semi-finals of the WDSF Asia Sports Series Games Latin & Standard, waiting for the official ranking. The above ranking will be very useful for Phan Hien - Nha Khanh as they will definitely receive high seed positions if they compete at the SEA Games or regional and continental championships.

Along with being named in the final round of the World Open Championship and the semi-finals of the Asian Championship, Phan Hien - Nha Khanh also had the honor of competing with the world's top 4 pairs of athletes in the Latin category at the WDSF World Superstars Sports Series Latin & Standard competition.
The Vietnamese team participated in the competition with 10 pairs from provinces and cities such as Dong Nai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Binh ... and all had to pay for their own expenses when coming to the tournament. At the 30th SEA Games taking place at the end of this year, Vietnam sent 2 pairs to compete in the Latin and Standard categories, including Phan Hien - Nha Uyen and Duc Hoa - Hai Yen.
