When young people are "nostalgic"

In the digital age, with the flow of modernity, there are young people who still choose the way that many people consider nostalgic when going to book fairs, ceramic exhibitions, historical exhibitions... For young people, this is a way to enrich their knowledge, creating a knowledge foundation for the current development trend.

Go to book

According to the reporter's records, at around 9 am on June 12, at the Summer Book Fair held at the 6-way intersection park, Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot city, many young people came to read and buy books. The book fair is scheduled to be held from June 7 to 15, with thousands of books sold at discounts from 15-70%. This is a useful playground, helping young people have more choices this summer.

Recently, book fairs have been held more and more in Binh Duong and attracted a large number of young readers. Reporters noted that when coming to these activities, many young people were excited to see thousands of books of all genres neatly displayed and still smelling of new paper. For young people, this is an experience that does not cost much, but is meaningful, when they can leave their phones behind and instead have books in their hands.

In addition to book fairs, cultural activities such as ceramic exhibitions have also attracted a large number of young people to participate in recent times. Taking advantage of that advantage, this summer, the series of events “Summer Never Fade” taking place from June 3 to July 20 will be held in Lai Thieu pottery village, promising to be a playground for young people to learn about the history of Lai Thieu pottery, as well as make a ceramic product by themselves.

In the series of activities of this event, each activity carries the breath of tradition, creative inspiration and unforgettable memories. This promises to be a playground of “playing and learning” without being boring. There, students will learn some skills related to pottery, appreciate their own achievements as well as confidently express their personality and emotions through art.

Awakening passion for learning history

As part of its activities to serve the people, the Provincial Museum with the exhibition theme “Vietnam – Aspiration for Peace and National Reunification” also offers another option for young people who want to learn about history. The exhibition is made with 132 images and 30 artifacts from the collection of “homemade weapons” to vividly recreate the heroic and resilient struggle of the Vietnamese army and people.

In particular, in this exhibition, the Provincial Museum also made a model (in 1:2 scale) of the T-59 tank, number 390 - the historical tank that crashed into the gate of the Independence Palace in 1975, to serve the needs of sightseeing and learning about history of all classes of people. Through the exhibition, the public has access to valuable documents and images about the cause of building socialism in the North and the long-term, resilient resistance against American imperialism in the South from 1954 to 1975.

In recent days, the Provincial Museum has welcomed many visitors, especially student groups, to visit this meaningful thematic exhibition. The exhibition is still open to visitors until July 25, 2025. Ms. Doan Kim Khanh, Head of the Professional Department of Binh Duong Provincial Museum, said that every year, on major events, the Provincial Museum organizes exhibitions according to themes, attracting people to visit, of which the majority are union members and young people. In particular, with the April 30 exhibition themes, a number of universities in the province as well as localities have organized tour groups for students and union members to visit. Through these events, students can better understand the history and formation of Binh Duong. "Meanwhile, this summer, many activities were organized at Phu Loi Prison Relic and attracted many young people to participate in trips to the source," said Ms. Doan Kim Khanh.
