Khanh Hoa completes reviewing and updating marriage data in the province

On August 18, according to information from the Department of Justice, the entire Khanh Hoa province has completed 100% of the task of reviewing and updating data on divorce and illegal marriage annulment in the province, contributing to ensuring the progress of the 90-day peak period of "cleaning" marriage data and implementing the reduction of procedures for confirming marital status (from May 31 to August 31) jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme People's Court.

The review results show that, of the 55,098 data received from the Provincial People's Court, 51,144 data belong to Khanh Hoa province (marriage registration at competent authorities in the province), the rest are data from other provinces. Of the 51,144 data mentioned above, 44,358 eligible data have been updated and noted on the registration and civil status management information system; the remaining 6,786 data have also been reviewed and determined to not be eligible to be updated on the system (no marriage registration data on the software; divorce judgments and decisions do not identify the place of marriage registration, actual marriage, etc.).

The Department of Justice and relevant agencies met to discuss plans to review and update marriage data, taking place on July 18.

The review and processing of data took place in the context of the province initially organizing its apparatus according to a new model, with a large amount of work, a large amount of data to be completed, and a short implementation time; many new personnel performing judicial tasks; the civil status software often had errors due to transferring data from the old software to the new software. Immediately after receiving the judgments and decisions on divorce and annulment of illegal marriages from the Provincial People's Court, the Department of Justice classified and transferred them to the People's Committees at the commune level to update the civil status registration and management information system, and make notes in the paper civil status book according to its authority; at the same time, regularly monitor, support, and guide the removal of obstacles; urge, remind, and warn localities at risk of not completing on schedule.
